Tasted a good bit of Smokey chipotle peppers but was missing the heat. Not a bad beer the mouthfeel was a little thin, probably better when paired with some tacos or chili.

Didn't know what to expect. Even after drinking, not sure if it was what I was expecting !!, lol, .Pours a mostly clear caramel-gold color with minimal head and hardly any lacing to speak of. Aroma is pretty basic with touches of caramel malt and some hops. Don't really catch any of the chipotle pepper on the nose. Flavor is nice. A decent blend of hops and malt with a slight peppery finish. The chipotle pepper is nowhere near what I expected or what I wanted, considering the name. The pepper is, however, very subtle and would not scare anyone away that was afraid of a lot of heat. Overall, feels good on the palate, but I was hoping for more heat. The kick I wanted is missing !!

pours clear amber with a 1/4" white tight bubbly head which left tiny bit of lacing down the glass

smells of sweet malt earthy hops but no peppers?

taste - while there is a pepper flavor in the ale it is not enough to justify having chipotle in the name - good balance of malt to hops but the peppers could be missed if you did not swish and swirl and know the name chipotle ale

mouthfeel is great - medium body with plenty of carbonation

overall - this beer just does not pack the pepper punch from its original recipes - i would call for more peppers if you put peppers in the name of the beer

No heat to speak of. Gave the rest of the bottle to a buddy. One and done for me.

Fear of spice, don't worry. . . No zip to this ale. It is more of a subtle chipotle flavor. Hits harder at first before mellowing out a bit with every sip thereafter. Color is ripe red with great clarity and no over carbonation. No smell to compliment it really than just a subtle malt. Paired with a nice night of home made Mexican food and definitely enjoying.

it had a smokey pepper flavor, i would have preferred something a bit hotter (i'm always chasing the sculpin habenero). overall, it was drinkable and quite good.

Clear, bright copper body with a thick, large bubble head. Mild malt aroma with some vague herbal notes. Smokey notes arise with the first sip; biscuit malt; ever so slight peppery hint. Medium bodied.

A decent amber ale that lacks any real pepper flavor or zing but does offer a decent touch of smokiness. Otherwise, a rather mundane brew that suffers from the lack of any real chili pepper flavor despite its name -- smoke with no fire...

Brings back memories of our road trip to Newport. There may not be a lot of heat but I love the smoked taste of this beer.
