This beer came highly recommended by a friend, and after several beer runs where I somehow forgot it, I finally snagged a bomber from Total Wine in Columbia, SC, and cracked it open while enjoying a large hunk of chocolate creme cake.
Pours a rich mahogany, with some deep red highlights at the bottom. Large, fluffy, light tan head with creamy tight lacing. This is a fine looking beer.
Initial aroma is nutty more so than anything. Super malty. There's a bit of roastiness in there, but it's mostly at the end of the nose.
Perfect balance in this beer. It's unbelievable. The first taste is of the roasted malts, then a quick swish reveals the spicy hops that give a nice bitterness that balances it out.
Nice smooth creaminess. The contrasts are excellent. Like I said before, perfect balance. I think this is a phenomenal brown ale.

Heard great things about this beer so decided to give it a shot. Here goes:
A: OK, not good or bad. Beer pours an opaque brown; no light gets through. Very little head and moderate lacing.
S: Wow, simply outstanding. Can detect nutmeg, nutella, hazelnut, peanut butter and chocolate. Very little hops, however; this is a pure malt brew.
T: Taste follows the nose. Again, it's outstanding. Lots of nutella, hazelnut, peanut butter, chocolate, etc. The beer is a pure malt brew; I can't really detect any hops.
M: Very good but nothing special. Somewhat creamy but not very much so.
O: An excellent brown ale. Lots of nuts and chocolate. Would highly recommend it.
