Now Quaffing: Rogue Morimoto Signature Ale
Presentation 22 oz. bomber w/ silk-screened logo featuring Chef Morimoto. Poured a dark ruby-brown with a thin off-white head. Smells sweet with hints of hazlenut and chocolate. Mouthfeel is smooth and moderately full-bodied with an initial crispness from the hops and carbonation. Beyond the initial crispness is several sweet flavors including hazlenut, chocolate, and coffee all blended smoothly together. Finishes slightly dry with some residual bitterness from some of the roasted flavors and hops. Overall a very nice "fruit/vegetable" beer that demands attention and deserves respect. I was not disappointed with its replacing the original Hazlenut Nectar which was excellent, itself.
Note: This beer is tasty cold, but really shines as it warms up a bit. I recommend pouring the first glass direct from the fridge and letting the bottle sit out while you consume it. Unless, of course, if you dump the whole thing in a big liter mug : P.
