650ml bottle into a pint glass. Pours a cloudy, brownish/mahogany-ish color with about a finger of relatively thick head.
Smells strongly of roasted malt and hazelnut. This brew is truly a delight to the nose.
Taste begins with tons of roasted malt & sweetness with a hint of chocolate halfway through the drink. Strong representation of hazelnuts throughout. Delicious!
This beer is on the lighter side of medium-bodied beers and boasts an exceptionally pleasant mouthfeel. Carbonation is perfectly balanced, I couldn't imagine any improvement here. And that makes for easy drinking. An easily sessionable brew.
All in all, this is my hands-down favorite brown ale. Surly's Coffee Bender is a solid second, but it's absolutely behind this Rogue. Cheers!
