A: A nice dark brown appearance. A thumbs width head first appeared that eventually dwindled down to small lacing on the surface.
S: Nutty, some toffee, some brown sugar.
T: A strong and bold hazelnut taste hits you upfront and stays with you throughout, but milds out as it goes along in a very positive way. The one complaint is that the flavor is definitely not organic, it comes from extract (think hazelnut drinks at Starbucks flavor), but until another beer produces a hazelnut brown ale with hazelnut beans I will always come back to this. The hazelnut definite dominates the flavor but hidden below is a brown sugary kind of undertone with just the slightest touch of some bitterness at the end.
M: A little too much carbonation, medium bodied.
O: One of my favorite beers and now that its offered in 6 packs make me a very happy person. It is a bit of a one dimensional beer, it's definitely hazelnut-centric, but that one focus is done well and is of a flavor that I love.
