This is not really a sessions beer; it wants to be more of a long-lasting sipping beer. However I found it a little lacking in overall body and the nutty flavor left a slight aftertaste that became a little intolerable deep into the drink--almost wanted something else to wash it down with. But a fine different flavor while fresh and cold.

color: deep golden brown amber
light quickly dissipating head

smell: lightly of true hazelnut, not hoppy

taste: first off, very light hops and more malted warmth, with hazel nuttiness on the tongue; the hazel becomes more predominant on exhale and is a slight residual flavor in the back of mouth, a bit dry and bitter but true hazelnut flavored if you like that.

mouthfeel: a bit thin, though uncarbonated and drinkable

drinkability: I gave lowmarks for the residual slight aftertaste; a quaffer, not a sipper!

Serving type: on-tap

12 oz bottle was poured into a shaker glass at Parish Cafe on Boylston.

Appearance: This beer poured a one finger whitish brown head that reduced to a thin layer. It is an amber brown color with some vision of bubbles coming up through the glass. Spotty lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Toasted malts, roasted, hazelnut, a little chocolate, and some sweetness.

Taste: Hazelnut, toasted, chocolate, some sweetness, mild bitterness, and earthy notes..

Mouthfeel: Smooth, a little chewy, light to medium bodied, low to medium carbonation, and slight bitterness.

Overall: Awesome brown ale. Will be enjoying this one again in the near future.

Appearance is a clear dark brown with a two if her light brown head.
Aroma is caramel, nutty, pecan pie, toffee
Taste follows the nose but in a lighter, watered down way.
Nice malt balance but great rich nutty flavors come through.
Mouthfeel is pretty carbonated and medium to thin.
Overall it's probably my favorite rogue beer and is drink it again.
