Poured into a sleeve. A creamy, off-white head and fine carbonation. This beer seems to be slightly viscous, with a ruby brown tinge.
Nice caramel, roasted malt, toffee and nutty tones on the nose. My wife makes a whole-wheat sourdough, and this smells like that; it has a nice deep fresh bread crust smell to it.
Mouthfeel is pleasing, not too thick, good for the style. Carbonation is balanced and not overwhelming. Tastes of nutty and malty tones, nice buttery smoothness and hops at the end. Blooms as it warms, and an interesting slight sour finish at the end. Round, warm, toasty.
Nice and drinkable. I didn't find the sweetness excessive like some other reviewers, that's just me. A nice comfy brew from Rogue!
