mostly soil colored brown with hints of a ruby red at the bottom of the glass. small cream colored head dissapeared to nothing...no collar or lace to speak of. disappointing appearance. strong hazelnut aroma in the nose. medium bodied with ample carbonation. soft roasted flavor with sweet and juicy hazelnut notes. sweetness seems right on point as it never gets too much. lightly hopped for balancing. more like a desert beer, nevertheless, i enjoyed this one very much. an excellent twist on the brown ale.

12 oz bottle was poured into a shaker glass at Parish Cafe on Boylston.
Appearance: This beer poured a one finger whitish brown head that reduced to a thin layer. It is an amber brown color with some vision of bubbles coming up through the glass. Spotty lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.
Smell: Toasted malts, roasted, hazelnut, a little chocolate, and some sweetness.
Taste: Hazelnut, toasted, chocolate, some sweetness, mild bitterness, and earthy notes..
Mouthfeel: Smooth, a little chewy, light to medium bodied, low to medium carbonation, and slight bitterness.
Overall: Awesome brown ale. Will be enjoying this one again in the near future.

Appearance is a clear dark brown with a two if her light brown head.
Aroma is caramel, nutty, pecan pie, toffee
Taste follows the nose but in a lighter, watered down way.
Nice malt balance but great rich nutty flavors come through.
Mouthfeel is pretty carbonated and medium to thin.
Overall it's probably my favorite rogue beer and is drink it again.
