Sweet, spicy, hazelnutty, tea-like, fruity Brown.

A: Slightly cloudy, nutty, caramel brown body with a somewhat persistent one finger natural cotton head.

S: Sweet and spiced. Definite fresh nutty vibe without being overtly hazelnut. Cream and caramel malt. Ripe and tart apricot. Hops are felt rather than smelled, lending a perfumy edge. Delicious.

T: Very hazelnut indeed, especially as the beer warms. Creamy caramel malt comes forward, and fruit takes the back seat. Hops gently fill out the spectrum with tangy, floral notes. A bit artificial at times, but definitely delicious... best when on the colder side.

M: A bit thin for my taste, but I'm a big Stout man. Velvety texture is quite nice though.

Two fingers of beige head sat gently on top of a brown body of beer - the head had little retention. The smell is extraordinary - something like pecan pie. Compared to the superb nose, the taste is a bit of a downer - flat and a bit thin (I have never used such words to describe a Rogue beer before). There is a nice malty finish, but it just falls short of the best examples of this style.

I had high expectations, so this was definitely a disappointment.

1 finger creamy tan head on an amber-brown ale. Head retention is fair; a ring of head remains after a few minutes.

The aroma is sweet and nutty.

Toasty nuttiness, with a nice slight hop overtone.

Not too heavy.  Drinkable medium body and not overwhelming on the hazelnut.

Poured from bottle to pint.
Appearance- Light reddish / brown with a decent head that leaves some pretty good lacing.
Odor- Some nut. Some sweet malt.
Taste- Complex taste. Some hazelnut (of course) with sweet malt. Some caramel sweetness as well. Finishes as it begins with nutty sweetness.
mouthfeel- Some richness and body to it. Not overly heavy and thick.
Overall- An excellent brown ale in my opinion. Very complete and steady from first taste to last.
