I had this side by side with a bottle of the Hazelnut Brown Nectar, and they're nearly identical. Happyhour, my girlfriend and I split them, and this was the second one, so there will be some comparison notes.
The beer pours the same deep ruddy brown color, perhaps a shade darker, although an almost insignificant difference. The head is the same yellowed beige, diminishing into the same thick ring, and retaining equally well through the sample. Thus far, I'd be hard pressed to tell them apart.
Aroma is much the same as the hazelnut, perhaps somewhat sweeter, with less roastiness and a more pronounced chocolate smell. Not a chocolate malt aroma, but that of an addition of real chocolate to the beer. The hazelnut is about the same, and the fruitiness is a bit more enhanced, perhaps adding to the sweetness. Hops are minimal, with the barest trace of some herbal saaz. Strong caramel and toasted malt aroma, pretty much the same as the Hazelnut Brown Nectar.
Flavor is very similar to the Hazelnut Brown Nectar, but a bit sweeter, and less robust. Dark chocolate flavor is more pronounced, leading further into the sip, with the caramel and toasted malt a bit more subdued and smoother. Carbonation is much smoother, with less coarseness on the tongue. Mild plum, with perhaps a trace of currant. A wisp of hopping comes through towards the end, very low alpha. Body seems a bit lighter than the Hazelnut Brown Nectar, with a thinner maltiness, particularly in the beginning. The finish contains the same hazelnut. I actually prefer the hazelnut flavor in this one, it seems a touch more pronounced.
I found the Morimoto to be a bit smoother and less robust than the Hazelnut Brown Nectar, although they're pretty much identical. Looking at the ingredients on the back, they appear identical. Based on a back to back sampling, I'd say it's very close, but perhaps some small changes in malt ratio, with a touch more hazelnut flavoring. Almost so close it could be passed off as a slight inconsistency between different batches. Good stuff.

Poured a deep dark brown with rootbeer edges and a decent tan head. The aroma was very deep and rich - sharp coffee and chocolate malts, and maybe just a hint of hazelnut. The taste starts off with the same coffee from the smell, then kicks in a good dose of hazelnut that comes through the most in the aftertaste. Hints of chocolate also leave to thirsting for the next sip. The mouthfeel was a little thin but I did like the way that the carbonation fizzled in my mouth - it seemed almost like a hazelnut soda. Very good brew, nice and unique. Rogue truly rocks!
