Pours an opaque dark brown with amber highlights and a foamy one inch beige head that slowly dissipates, leaving sheets of lacing.

Deeply caramelized malt, molasses, toasted nuts, toasted bread, and a hint of chocolate form the rich, sweet aroma.

Flavor is fairly sweet, with brown sugar, slightly burnt caramel, and light molasses opening the profile, which is quickly engulfed by lightly toasted hazelnuts, leading to notes of toasted bread, with slightly roast malt drying out the finish. Toffee and a touch of fruity character from the roast malt add complexity.

Body is a touch full, with moderate carbonation.

Great beer, for what it is. Fruity character and over the top diacetyl are a little overwhelming, but well represented malt and nut character. Not cloying. A guilty pleasure brew.
