A - Brown pour with an unassuming thin head that settled fast. Slight carbonation and faint streaks of lacing are present.

S - Easily the highlight of this beer. Sweet smell of honey and hazelnuts combined with caramel malt. Sugary sweet notes to this give it a smell of candy.

T - On one hand it has a sweet flavor and a peasant malty taste that makes drinking this quite enjoyable. But I felt the hazelnut flavor was utterly lost in the taste and towards the end of the bottle the sugary flavor started to taste a little artificial. The overall experience was a good one but the depth of the complexity could have been better.

M - A good sessionable brown ale that went good with the BBQ I had. I could see a Newcastle drinker being easily swayed to try this.

O - A pretty solid offering from Rogue and a staple brown ale that is easily accessible and priced reasonably. This is a good beer for someone who has gotten past gateway craft and wants some of the typical examples of american styles.

A - Dark red/brownish color, with a thin off-white head.

S - Toasted malts and hazelnut dominate the odor.

T - initially, I started drinking this one too fast, and missed out on some of the flavor. Once I slowed down, and started exploring, I was very pleased with what I found. Nutty flavor up front, specifically hazelnut, followed by toasted malts and some grain. A little touch of hop bitterness toward the end helped to balance out the heavy sweetness throughout. Very tasty beer.

M - Moderate mouthfeel, not quite full, and certainly not watery thin, either. Enjoyable beer. The sweetness tends to stick to the mouth a bit, which makes me crave some more.

O - I was looking forward to this beer for a while, being a big fan of brown ales and malty beverages. This was delicious.
