Rogue Mocha Porter is delicious, natural-flavored, and rough-around-the-edges.
It poured black with a nice dark tan foamy head. It left only a moderate amount of lace. The smell and flavor were dominated by coffee and chocolate, as the name suggests, with a fantastic bitter dark chocolate finish that lingered like high-quality chocolate, with no artificial or sweet candy quality. Compared to the flavor, the smell was muted. The feel was rough, shredding the tongue a bit, rather than having the smooth texture of many coffee and chocolate stouts.
For the flavor alone, Rogue Mocha Porter is a keeper. It has great coffee and chocolate flsvor, without syrupy sweetness, and a strong bitter feel.
