A - A very dark brown pour with a glorious 2 finger head on a medium pour. The head is a beige color and dissipates at a moderate rate. has a moderate lacing.

S - The smell is that of coffee and chocolate and a hint of alcohol.

T - first is the expected coffee taste followed by a mixture of roasted coffee and some chocolate and a minimal amount of wood flavoring. this is a slightly bitter beer leaving a more coffee than chocolate after taste. Thoroughly enjoyable

M - thinner than expected but medium bodied and medium crispness to it.

O - I enjoyed this beer probaly not up for more than one of these at a time as it is rather strong in its flavoring. I think of this beer as more than adequate but not quite exceptional.

12oz bottle poured into a snifter.

A: Black in color with the slightest amount of light coming through at the edges. Half finger light tan head with decent retention and nice lacing.

S: Roasted coffee and semi sweet chocolate. Not a huge aroma but nice.

T: Roastiness upfront. Followed my a decent blend of chocolate and coffee. Very light coffee bitterness. Roasted notes come back a tad in the finish.

M: Light bodied. Not very creamy. Medium high carbonation.

O: A good porter. Not up with the best of them but still good.
