Sampled on 4/1/04 from a 12oz bottle stating it was in 2002.
Appearance: Pours pure black like motor oil after being in a race car for 20,000 miles. The sheer onyx is covered by a caramel head that builds to a decent size, but fades much to quickly, the only flaw in the portrait of darkness.
Smell: Somewhat muted. Scents of roasted malts, dark chocolate, caramel, with an alcohol warmness.
Taste: Creamy, chocolately caramel that is followed by a bitter coffee and dry toffee.
Mouthfeel: Pure creaminess that dries slightly in the middle.
Drinkability: Great. Another fantastic Rogue beer.
Serving type: bottle
