Pours black with a nice brown head. No lacing.
A bit too straightforward roastiness. Dark malts, lots of roast, some chocolate and lots of hops. The hops actually seem to intensify the roasty quality, which leads to a very parching aftertaste. I hate that in a beer. Other than the parching quality, the mouthfeel has adequate viscosity and carbonation -- but the parching trumps all else.
Not impressed. The roastiness needs to be tamed and some additional complexities introduced.
