Bottled in 2009 - 7oz bottle (Shows "Russian Imperial Stout" on bottle)
A: Pours jet black with a only the very slightest caramel head covering. Laces the glass nicely.
S: A dark chocolate, fruit and anise aroma. There is a hot alcohol aroma as well.
T: Rich chocolate at first, but then has a roasted and hop bitterness that really dominates and finishes off the beer. Something didn't seem to age right. I was looking for a smoother and more well balanced finish seeing as how it has aged for 2+ years.
M: Full bodied and fairly chewy. Leaves a creamy mouth-feel.
O: Was really expecting more out of this as far as taste. The smell was fairly right on and the mouthfeel was really there.
