I poured a 22 oz. bottle of this smoke ale into a Carlsberg pint glass. No freshness date.
A: There was a hazy brown body with orange-red hues when held to the light, topped by a cream colored head which dissipated to a thin layer.
S: There is a sweet malt smell that sits behind the bolder roasted, smoky aroma. Hops were present in the smell. The smell is strong.
T: Smoke flavor mixed with bitter hop flavor. The two hold hands together in this ale. The alcohol warms the mouth towards the end as the beer's temperature rises. There is a nice sweet malt taste in the aftertaste.
M: Smooth, smooth, smooth.
D: I dub this smoke ale easy to drink for a smoked beer. I don't think I would sit down and have more then one or two however.

On tap at Rogue brewpub in Eugene, poured into a pint glass.
A-Pours a dark golden amber, slightly opaque. Has a very thin top of off white head, visible lacing.
S-Smoked oak, caramel malt.
T-Sweet caramel malt, campfire smoke, slight hoppy bitterness. There's even the smallest hint of sour granny smith apple.
M-Light medium body, very light carbonation.
O-Pleasant smoke ale with light balance. The smoke flavor isn't overwhelming and I'd prefer more of it also more carbonation.
