12oz brown bottle. Pours a respectable cloudy (unfiltered) peach colored beer crowned with a sticky white foam lace that retains well.
Malty sweet, over-ripe sweet tropical fruit and a resiny floral nose. Hints of citrus.
Full-bodied, syrupy, thick sweetness of tropical fruits. Big bready character attempts to balance and quell the incoming hop character of ... a flash of zest, notes of aspirin, grapefruit rind, wood, resiny sap, herbal spice and leafy mouthfeel. Notes of caramel / toffee in the edges. Sharp and spicy alcohol bite with tailing warmth. More big bready flavors in the finish.
The Father of the American Double IPA, I2PA still holds its own as one of the greatest hophead wet dreams.

Presentation: Small 7oz brown twist bottle with no freshness date.
Appearance: Hazy orange amber in colour with a very sticky well retaining white lace.
Smell: Hints of citric, herbal and spicy hop. Quite estery with aromas of alcohol and very ripe fruit. A touch of grain also in the nose.
Taste: Very rich and balanced with a extremely smooth carbonation and mouthfeel. Ripe citric hop bitterness and flavour that goes a bit spicy towards the end. This is evened off by a big malty flavour of fruit, malt and grain. The finish is the remnants of the hop, residual sweetness and a warming alcohol.
Notes: Intense and not for the weak. This brew pushes the envelope for modern day IPAs ... top honour for brewing this awesome god water. The only problem is that 7 ozs is not enough! This brew was gauged at 74 IBUs yet it is perfectly balanced by a huge grain bill.

Got a growler on the way out of Portland, bring it on the plane !
Light orange, clear IPA. Nice 1/2 inch white foamy head poured into my 10 barrel medium side snifter.
Mild bite from the IPA, nice mild grapefruit, hoppy flavor, very pleasant to drunk, even though it is over 9 %.
Mouthfeel seems 'bout right, a little malty goodness when you 'foam' it up in your mouth.
I would drink this every time at the airport, a nice find there , will probably add it in the cart now, from time to time. Drink it !
