Pours a vibrant hazy orange from the fancy ceramic Rogue bottle. This brew wasn't cheap at $20 of which, I'm guessing 40% of the cost was paying for the fancy ceramic bottle. Yeah the bottle is cool, but I'd rather pay less and have them put it in a glass bottle like everyone else. I did keep the bottle and will use it for my home brews but still...ceramic bottle with a ceramic Grolsch style stopper/cork is overkill. Anyways, had a rocky white foam head that stuck around for several minutes before calming into a mild lacing of foam accross the top.
Smells of strong pine, sweet malts, acidic spicey citrus, perhaps a faint hint of orange rinds.
The taste is a spicey, floral, herbal citrus. Has hints of honey and malt sweetness. The sweetness mildly comes through in the beginning then doesn't reappear until the very end of the sip. Has some traces of caramel goodness, and the ABV is almost non-detectable, very well hidden. This is not an overly deep or complex D-IPA. The hops smack the tongue in an almost brutal fashion, for hop lovers, it's a great beer; for non-hop lovers, it will bring your taste buds to their knees.
Mouthfeel is very velvety smooth, no prickling from the lack of carbonation, medium bodied, finishes semi-dry, and creates a mild warming sensation from the alcohol but becomes more prevelant as you work through the bottle. The big surprise is that the flavor is crisp for a D-IPA, I was surprised by that nuance.
Drinkability: Not very. At 9+%, make sure you have some food before hand otherwise you'll be feeling it quite quickly.

Got a growler on the way out of Portland, bring it on the plane !
Light orange, clear IPA. Nice 1/2 inch white foamy head poured into my 10 barrel medium side snifter.
Mild bite from the IPA, nice mild grapefruit, hoppy flavor, very pleasant to drunk, even though it is over 9 %.
Mouthfeel seems 'bout right, a little malty goodness when you 'foam' it up in your mouth.
I would drink this every time at the airport, a nice find there , will probably add it in the cart now, from time to time. Drink it !
