Definitely comes in more of the amber lager appearance wise, has all that caramel and copper color thing going for it, 1/2" white head, good retention, impressive lace. Aroma was nutty, woody.

Pretty normal drinking, easy standard stuff. More bitterness in the mouthfeel than expected. The price and format are more than I prefer, but Rogue gonna Rogue.

A faint amount of orange and amber appearance, nice for a lager. Lace kept its end of the bargain, although my initial impression was questionable regarding the carbonation. Aroma didn't resonate.

Not a lot distinct here, ibu of around 25 I'd guess, very little hop note. Crystal and Saaz hops, no wonder. Not my favorite style of beer, but this one just seems to have the coolest part of it be the Statue of Liberty paint label.

A friend of mine found one of these sitting in an A&P liquor mart, and figured I'd like it, mainly to save the bottle.
The beer poured a cloudy golden amber, with a copious head. Definitely past it's best before date, just observing the head. Good clumpy lacing, sticking to the glass in chunks.
Aroma is certainly cardboardy and winey. Malty, with some toasted and caramunich aroma. No hops, whether because of style or age, i don't know. Aside from the age, it smelled pretty clean and robust. Probably a hell of a beer back in it's prime.
Flavor is malty and full bodied. Clean flavors, with very little hops, save a distant wisp of herbal flavor in the end. A distinct wine-like feel from the age, with a mild wet paper flavor in the aftertaste. Apparent yeast flavor, particularly in the end. A bit of tin in the aftertaste as well.
I would have liked to try this fresh, but it was fun anyways. Numbers are boosted slightly for potential.

Presentation: 22oz bomber with no freshness date to be found.

Appearance: Light amber with a hint of copper ... the lace is well at retaining.

Smell: Lots of malt sweetness with some hop aroma in the background.

Taste: Malty though has an odd toasted twang yet the hops help to make you forget into an herbal spicy hop flavour. After taste is quite clean ... which is a nice surprise.

Notes: Maybe they should rethink this brew? Some really strange falvours are picked up in this beer due to the flavours not blending well. Not bad, still a decent brew ... just odd for a lager, perhaps more lagering time?
