From the 650 ml. bottle. Sampled on June 26, 2014.

It pours a deep chestnut brown with a fluffy tan head that lingers.

The aroma is malty and sweet. There are notes of caramel, toffee, and molasses with low to no hop notes.

The body is medium and creamy.

The taste is incredibly malt forward with the sweetness of sugar, caramel, toffee, butterscotch, raisins, and molasses. The hop bitterness is mild but more noticeable in the taste than on the nose.

Served on tap into a shaker glass.

A- Poured a clear amber color with off-white soapy head that left some chunky lace.

S- Lighter aroma of bready and sweet caramel notes.

T- Nice bready and caramel backbone with a bold hop character of citrus and herbal notes. Moderate level of bitterness.

M- Prickly carbonation, smooth, dry, medium body, and goes down very easy.

O- This amber has really nice hop flavors and bitterness, but also has a sturdy backbone to make it a highly enjoyable and balanced amber ale.

Poured from a bomber into a frosted pint glass. Burnt amber/copper in color, malty with a crisp yet slightly sweet finish. Thoroughly enjoyed this easy drinking beer. My second favorite Rougue beer to Hazlenut brown. Paired with anything BBQ'ed. Only thing to make this brew better would #1 for my local stores to carry it (had to buy directly from Rougue website, also got one from Bevmo site) #2 for it to come is 12oz bottles which IMO would make it a little more user friendly.
