Reviewed in a side by side tasting with regular Dead Guy Ale.
Pours a similar amber color to Dead Guy Ale with what appears to be slightly higher levels of carbonation and more dense, slower to recede off-white head with tons of crusty lacing. Seems slightly lighter in color, but not much.
Aroma is sweeter and more candy/less malty than normal dead guy ale with the addition of slightly hot alcohol notes and a more citrus hop aroma.
Sort of opposite what I would have expected flavor wise compared to normal dead guy. The mouthfeel is less viscous, the sweetness in the nose does not really translate into the taste, as there is far more bitterness than normal dead guy ale, and the alcohol also seems to balance out the malt backbone. Slightly more spicy hop flavor than normal dead guy as well.
Mouthfeel is again thinner, and more carbonated than regular DG. Finish is much dryer also due to higher bitterness levels, more carbonation, and higher bitterness levels.
