Continuing through the Rogue line.
I would say that Rogue Dead guy is quite possibly my favorite beer of all, at least non-IPA's.
Could drink it anytime.
So I have been excited to try the Double Dead guy since I bought it a month or two ago at Wegmans in King of Prussia PA, 25.4 oz bottle.
Poured into a tall beer mug. 2-3 finger head, thick, off white, remained for quite awhile and lacing continues through sipping.
Dark amber/reddish tones, almost but not quite like a sweet iced tea maybe.
Nothing unusual or remarkable in the scent category, just a basic malt/ale scent.
The flavor packs quite a punch. There is a lot going on here. Fruity, toasty slightly hoppy characteristics Raisins, dry hazelnut slightly, even a hint of a warm apple pie.
Good blend and flavor.
The mouthfeel is full bodied and rich, lingering and impressive.
The 9% ABV is pretty awesome too.
I recommend this and as a Dead Guy fan, it definitely met the expectations that I was holding.
Hats off, again, to Rogue.
