Poured a deep unfiltered golden color -- yellow snow? Not quite. A one finger frothy ivory head persisted with thick lacing.
Aroma of rich malts; citrus including apple, honey, and cinamon spice. Yet not overwhelming.
Taste: Although well carbonated, the taste is rather flat. Hops are only slightly bitter, but do linger nicely. Background malts are non-eclectic and weak.
mouthfeel is medium-bodied, smooth, and not oily as in some strong IPAs.
Drinkibility is good -- goes down smooth. Carbonation a bit strong especially considering the rather subdued taste.
Overall, a strong IPA (carbonation, ABV, good froth retention, strong citrus and lasting hop bite) but the malts and hops are rather subdued overall. The quality of this IPA has above-average written all over it, yet the flat taste is a let down.
