12oz bottle bought from Bottle Top - Cheadle Hulme at a cost of £3, poured into a straight 500ml glass.
A dark yellow, almost peachy hue, opaque and diffuse in appearance with a thin off white head that resolves into a smear over the beer, minimal lacing.
A sweet malty nose, fruity tropical notes with wisp of spicy orange, and a herbal earthiness.
In the mouth theres a flowery wave with a touch of pine, a nip of of tart grapefruit, some of that spicy orange and a big sweet layer of malt, rapidly joined by a hefty bite of bitterness, pleasantly resinous, lasting in the mouth for quite a while.
It feels a little disappointing, a tremor of carbonation on the tounge, but mainly flat and stickly insipid liquid with an overly oily texture.
Just about above average in my experience, lacks depth, although it has a character. These days theres a lot better out there for £3 a pop in the Uk.
