The color was light brown with a respectable head and good lacing.

The aroma of light hops, caramel and fruit hints, Some grains and malts can be detected also.

The taste and feel are creamy, mild hops with caramel and bread notes which are followed by a mild bitterness that hangs for a moment until a hint of sweetness kicks in followed by a touch of alcohol and fruit. The light body and ample carbonation provide a refreshing feel.

Notes: A good beer for a hot day and right now its almost June so it was a very good beer today.

A 12 ounce bottle poured into a nonic Imperial pint glass. This bitter appears a clear straw color with about an inch of pillowy bone white foam. Nose and flavors of lightly toasted grains/barley, grassy, earthy hops, biscuits and a hint of caramel at the end. A tad thin in body, but with ample carbonation. Worth a try if you see it.

Pours clear golden with a decent white fluffy head. The aroma is slightly grainy, like a pilsener malt, with a light hop character, a bit like a noble hop. The flavor is slight, with a light malt character with a faint bready edge. It reminds me of a good rice wine. There is gentle bitterness that develops slowly after you swallow. Mouthfeel is thin and refreshing. It's a good beer for a hot, humid day. It is not deep, but it is tasty for a session beer.

Rogue's Issaquah Brewhouse sells 12-oz. bottles of this Japanese export beer among their vast litany of Rogue ales. Unlike some other Ezo beers, this one has a US Government warning beneath the Japanese text on the silk-screened bottle, making it suitable for sale in US markets. Not much is otherwise known about this beer though it has been incorrectly identified elsewhere as a re-named and repackaged Dead Guy Ale. It is not the same beer as Dead Guy.

Visually, White Crane appears hazed and modestly particulate in a warm hue of gold. It shows ardent CO2, but forms no more than an islet of head and a rim of lace. No yeast sediment remains in the bottle.

Though only a modest 5% ABV, the aroma and taste of White Crane most closely resemble barleywine. The nose is big and fruity, with a whiff of rum-raisin. The taste has a similar measure of dried fruit, especially sugar-plum, and finishes with a flat bittering that offers no signature from the Cascade and Willamette hops within. A mild solvent-like smell attempts to poke through at the margins though it doesn't overwhelm, and the body is a bit thin. But overall, White Crane makes for a worthy excursion into the Rogue Nation.
