Poured from a big 22 oz bottle.
This is about as attractive as a stout can be I suppose. Dark black with no light coming through. Dark tan head, it looked like a cup of strong coffee.
It smelled wonderful, lots of malty goodness and whatnot.
The taste was nice, but I've had stouts I've enjoyed more. The highlight here was the strong presence of roasted flavors, like charred toast and espresso. Otherwise this was a little tangy, a little sweet.
The mouthfeel was nice and thick, but I felt like it was over carbonated and that took away from the smooth quality this would otherwise have had.
Pretty nice stout, I'd buy it again.
