Completely opaque, even backlit, with a coarsely bubbled tan head.
Aroma is nice -- roasted malt and barley dominate, though a slight hop boquet is clearly present.
Very well balanced flavor. Roasty malt flavor is the most prevalent, almost sweet enough to qualify as a sweet stout, but balanced nicely by the hops. 69 IBU is a bit high for this style of beer, but it works really well here. Crisp flavor, slightly dry finish. Chocolatey, toasty aftertaste.
Not a lot to complain about here. The head retention, in the several bottles I've payed attention to, has been relatively poor, and the head itself has been somewhat less creamy than typical of the style. Also, the body is perhaps a bit thinner than I like to see in a stout. Still, a very drinkable beer.
Also, huge kudos to Rogue for putting *so much* information about their beer right on the bottle. IBUs, Hop type, malt type, specific gravity, it's all right there! Rogue is the only company I know of that does this.
