A: Deep brown, opaque, nice 2-finger head with great retention, decent lacing. A bit of head remains indefinitely, which is great.
S: Smoke, Chocolate, vanilla, a little coffee, hops, dark fruit, barley. Chocolate and hops are the dominant smells.
T: Very Very smokey and chocolatey. Non-sweet taste really brings out the hops. The bitter chocolate and hops with smoke go together very well. Leaves a super-bitter taste in your mouth after swallowing, which is cool - makes you feel like a man. I wish it were a little sweeter. Also, a metallic background flavor hinders the taste.
M: Carbonation a little high, pretty syrupy, thick, pretty astringent. Medium-heavy body. Again, makes one feel like a man.
D: For a stout it goes down well. It's not a dessert beer, so I'm not chugging it for the sugary taste, but it definitely drinks well for the style.
