Please pardon the brevity of this review, I am attempting to catch up (between work assignments) from weeks of tasting based on notes...
Overall: "To my tastebuds, more a porter than a stout."
Brew had no head, merely a fringe of brown bubbles over an opaque black body.
Smell is gentle and bittersweet, much like baker's chocolate.
Starts smooth and spicy with some roasted oat flavor; Settles heavy & full-bodied as a good stout should, but thin on flavor complexity... simply a straightforward coffee/caramel mix; Finish is a heavy dark chocolate taste with a bitter hop edge over a rich, smooth, malty foundation.
Strong, bitter aftertaste.
