Hops in the nose to start, with a little scent of coffee.
Pours a robust three-finger head with good retention - larger bubbles on the outside surround a creamy smooth interior head of a surfer-tanned color.
Creamy smooth sensation in the mouth when sipped, as the carbonation continues down the palate, carrying with it the bold hop flavor tempered by chocolatey, turbinado sugar malts and a lingering impression of leftover devil's food cake.
Excellent overall. Something Sir John Falstaff would have enjoyed for sure.
