Poured from the 22 oz,. bottle into a Samuel Smith English tulip pint.

a: Opaque black with just the barest hint of ruby at the bottom when seen through light. Three inch tall light brown head receded to rocky surface foam and dense lacing.

s: Dark chocolate and black coffee.

t; Black coffee and dark chocolate followed by quite a hop bite. Bittersweet finish becomes sweeter as it is consumed.

m: Moderate, silky smooth.

o: A very good oatmeal stout, rather more bitter than some from the almost 70 IBU's, but enjoyable as an American west coast take on the style. The bitterness makes it seem like its ABV is higher than 6.

Poured a beautiful Ebony Color out of a growler into my mason jar.

The smell is dark roasted grains with coffee undertones

The taste is still magnificent, Oatmeal, dark chocolate with hops in the background. I turned 21 and bought a bottle when the brewery was still in Ashland.

Yummy

I drank this alongside a Rogue Double Chocolate Stout. This probably wasn't a very good idea for a review, but I have always done this for the enjoyment and contrast of two beers.

A - This was served with a minimal head and spotty cloud cover. This appears solid blackish-brown.
S - This has the base stout smell with hints of peat, mild espresso, cocoa.
T - Smooth, creamy, and bitter-sweet chocolate. There is a balance of malts, coffee, chocolate, and maybe caramel. This has an earthy taste, does not have much sweetness, and has a dry finish.
M - Medium body and light carbonation
O - Well done, solid oatmeal stout. Everything comes together very well.

Serving type: nitro-tap

Teku/nonic glass.
A: Pitch black with big, mocca, long lasting head. Good lacing.

S: Medium roasted grains aroma character (partly coffee-like aromas), medium fruity aromas - rasins, plums. Almostly none hop aroma, light oatmeal aroma. Mainly you can smell dark fruits mentioned above, in the second place roasted grains with dominant coffee aroma, than dark chocolate.

T: Medium sweet taste. Earthy and grainy steel oat flavour. Strong character of roasted malts. Sometimes it tastes like coffee with cream or milk. In the end the coffee flavor is really dominant. Low bitterness somewhere in the end. Aftertaste is mild coffee-bitter.

M: Medium-full body, silky and very smooth, almost light oily. Medium carbonation. Finishing is bitter and dry.
