Drinking my second one at David Copperfield's Ale House in NYC as I type. There were no single IPAs that were new to me on tap, so I went for this Pale Ale from Rogue, one of my favorites.
I was told it was hoppy like an IPA and thats what it is. Frankly this is hoppier than some well known IPA's that I've had. Simply put, IMHO this is an IPA, and I will judge it as such. And it is excellent!
Balanced, with that nuanced bitterness that you want in an IPA. This one is fresh and delicious! Big up!

Poured from a 650 ml bottle into a standard pint.
A: Medium brown. Pours a 1+ finger, frothy, white head. Settles slowly, leaving a thick, persistent foam blanket. Plenty of beer ring lacing. Head renews fully with each pour.
S: Pine, honey, and citrus.
T: Pine straw. Lots of lemon pith. And a woody malt tone.
M: Biting hop character. Bitter and crisp. Dry finish.
D: Sipping experience due to character.
Atmosphere is pretty good. Frothy head, persistent foam, and lots of lacing. Nose is very piney, very citrusy, with a distinct sweet note. Very bitter pine hop, bitter lemon pith, and a bit of woody character. Overall, this is a good quaff.
