Poured into a tulip from a bomber.
Appearance: Pours a hazy golden amber with a two finger ecru colored fluffy sticky head with plenty of pretty lace down the glass.
Smell: Very malty sweet with a nice hoppy grass back note. Fruity hop bitter smell. Nice.
Taste: Just about the same as the smell. Sweet malts mixed with a fresh hop bitter finish. Not to spicy but you can pick up pepper notes on the front of your tongue. Long lasting dry finish.
Mouth: Smooth and dry. Medium carb. Nice oily feel that stays long after the sip.
Overall: A very nice APA. Almost walked by this one too. Very glade I didn't. Good drinkable beer. Do yourself a favor and give this one a try. This one would pair great with some spicy chinese food.
cheers

Shared 650 ml bottle, from the Norwegian importer. ABV is 6.0%. 90 IBU. Hazy orange to brown colour, moderate off-white head. Moderate hoppy aroma. Distinctly hoppy and bitter flavour, moderate malts in the background. Grapefruity and resinous notes, some earthy notes too. Very bitter aftertaste.

Purchased at Lekkerbier. Hazy straw brown color. Small head but heavy lacing. Heavy spice on foretaste, and mild carbonation. Very nice... A buy again brew.

From notes taken 03/24/16:
Semi-clear tarnished copper, topped by yellow-tan head of creamy, fluffy texture and appearance, and good, film-forming retention, with wet, non-sticking legs. Aromas of caramel, vegetal spiciness, resin, date-like esters, brown sugar. Earthy, leathery, leafy, vegetal throughout, caramel and tartness in the middle and back, with citrus seed, tea, resin, dank spice, metal, and peppercorn for the finish. Quite dry. Fuller end of medium-bodied, velvety and fine fizzy effervescence, crisp, moderately astringent.

2010 vintage, so rating set to current average.
Aroma is very floral, with fruity specialty malt character accompanying nutty, toasted sweetness.
Flavor is very specialty malt fruit forward, with a light sweetness, a moderately bitter finish, and deeply toasted, nutty malt lingering in the lightly harsh finish.

(22oz, San Mateo) a lot going on in the smell, malty sweet on first taste, picking up a kinda pruney smell, a bit lacking in the hop department in smell and taste, still enjoyable
