16oz can. Can bottom is stamped 'PKG DATE 1/20/2023'.
Black colored body, with a mahogany back lit edge. One thick finger of tan head, which lasts until it becomes a thin cap and high ring. Leaves behind some horizontal patterns of lacing.
Aroma is roasted malts and fudge-enhanced chocolate.
Taste introduces some coffee bitterness from mid to late in the profile. Rich chocolate and vanilla are strong. Has a long lasting aftertaste of sweet black licorice, coated with chocolate.
Introduces in the mouth as thinner for feel, but then quickly expands to a creamy and fuller mouth feel. No alcohol burn. Good carbonation.
Dessert beer with good depth of flavor.

Pours a black color with a thick tan head. Everything about the beer is chocolate. It's like a thick chocolate soda, with 9% alcohol.

Poured from a 16 ounce can into a snifter.
Look- Black, opaque, plentiful visible particulate at the edges, medium brown frothy head, average lacing, above average head retention.
Smell- Cocoa, toasted oats, medium strength of scent.
Taste- Toasted oats, cocoa, medium strength of flavor.
Feel- Between medium and full body, silky, average carbonation, moderately bitter, moderately creamy, mildly mouth warming.
Overall- Look was deep black with visible particulate and above average head retention. Bouquet and flavor were medium in strength showcasing a pleasant, but simple flavor profile of malt and cocoa. Feel was between medium and full body with mild mouth warming and moderate creaminess. Overall this was an enjoyable experience, but the bouquet and flavor profile were too simple.

16 Oz can. Canned 11/17/21. Poured into a pint glass
Pours a solid black body with a khaki head. Good retention. A couple of rings of thin lacing
Malt forward scent is chocolate heavy. Very sweet. Nestles milk chocolate leads off with German chocolate cake notes. A little barley or possibly oat notes are present as well. Overall scent is very prominent.
Taste follows. Sweet nestles chocolates. Taste is reminiscent of the nestles chocolate quick from my childhood
Smooth full feel fits the style...
... but what is the style? Beer with adjutants ? A "malt beverage"? There was so much chocolate added in the brewing process that at times this was more like drinking a cholate drink then a beer.
That said, I did enjoy it and will probably get it again. The interesting thing is that I detected absolutely zero (of the 9%) booze in the scent or the taste. Whatever this is I like it!
