Pours nearly pitch black, the deepest darkest brown you can imagine. A quant head that leaves a bit of lacing. Nice dark, thick, syrupy looking stout.
Roasted malt, chocolate, subtle vanilla sweetness. It comes off like coco a contrast from the sweeter or more dark chocolate mixes if that makes any sense.
Sweet coco leaves this sweet and bitter. I almost feel like I took a drink of straight coco powder. It seems they used honey to bring the malt just sweet enough to offset the extreme bitter flavors that the coco gives. The coco flavors just completely dominate this brew. Mixed is just enough hop presence to add a nice final layer to the finish and if it's possible subdue the bitter chocolate a hair.
Thick velvety syrup thickness with just enough carbonation to keep things interesting. Really this stuff is carbonated Hershey's syrup or at least pretty close to it.
A real nice sipper that will stay in your glass for as long as you'd like.
Rogue finally made a beer that justifies the price tag and at 13 bucks a bottle, that's saying something.

750ml bottle at 41 F poured into a pair of large chalices. Surprisingly, I can't find a bottle code or date
Pours black, not much head -- just a light brown ring. Not much carbonation. Looks thick. Smell is chocolate and black licorice, slightly sweet.
Taste is more of the smell. Chocolate and black licorice, Something tealike, much more coffee. Nice sweetness.
Mouthfeel is thick but not heavy, slight grit. Overall, very tasty.
Belatedly: Vanilla. Definitely some vanilla. Maybe it came out more as it warmed.
