On tap at the Rogue brewpub in SF (in a nice Rogue goblet, to boot). Pours a very dark black that is typical of a stout, with a minimal amount of head. The aroma is dominated by the sweet chocolate, along with a bit of coffee and licorice. The taste is almost like a milk chocolate beer, with the milk chocolate coming at the frontend with some hops and bitterness showing through after the initial chocolate blast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and carbonated, but very smooth and enjoyable.
Overall, a nice stout that is worth checking out if you don't mind being hit hard by chocolate in your beer. It is very drinkable for a double stout since the ABV is 8% and the alcohol is hidden relatively well.
