A: Cloudy blonde with two fingers of white head, good retention and lacing.
S: Not too potent, floral, a hint of hops, grassy.
T: Sweet, fruity, malty, light citrus, lemon, light bitterness.
M: Smooth, light, well-balanced, refreshing.
D: Both Rogue and lagers are hit-or-miss with me. I think they pulled this one off well though.

22 oz bottle from the LCBO.

Pours a clear light amber yellow, very thick and chunky white head forms, quickly settles down to a thin ring around the glass, some lacing sticks on in clumps, decent retention. Smell is nice, very malty, some caramel and toast, grassy, light floral, biscuity malt, not very complex but has a bit more sack behind it than the average Euro pale. Taste is very sweet and malty up front, honey and caramel, toast and biscuit, quite nice, light floral hops, orange peel sweetness, grassy, lightly sugary in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation, very smooth and drinkable. As noted before, just has more to it than the average Euro pale, bigger and more flavourful malts, better body, quite nice. I like this stuff.

To begin, I do not really like lagers. I am an ale man myself.

Poured from 650 ml bottle a nice white fulffy white head which is dissipating quickly. Color is of light straw which doesn't make me think theres much flavor in this one.

Aroma is very faint. Mild malt is about all I got.

The flavor and mouthfeel is where this beer picks up. Mild notes of apricot and green apple kick in at the tale end of the sip.

Still not a lager fan, although this is a nice beer to drink as far as lagers go.

It pours a hazy golden color with a thick white head. The aroma is understated, with very subtle hops detectable. The flavor is mild, more on the malt side. Again, you can't detect much, if any hop flavor. It has a crisp beginning and a slightly sweet finish. The aftertaste is brings in a slight fruit undertone. They call it apple on the label.

My favorite aspect of this beer which separates it from other light lagers is the body and mouthfeel. It actually has some substance to it, unlike the American Standard counterparts. It's a beer that I can drink and feel good about myself. The flavor is pretty mild, so that might be why I enjoy it, despite it being a lager.

A - Pours fairly clear straw, nice head reduces to ring. Thin, sudsy lacing.

S - Light. Some light malt, honey, wheat and apple.

T - Better than smell. Malt met nicely with a bite.

M - Good balance, nice overall mouth. Hits several areas of mouth really well. Good carb and coating.

D - Very! At 12 degrees Plato, I can't believe this one is much more than 5-6 ABV.

Good beer.

22 oz bottle, poured into a pilsener glass. Tall fluffy white white head creates a need to pour slow. Very slow to dissipate, in fact whipped cream cap sits on the surface to the very end. Fleck of lacing cling to the glass. Color is a clear pale straw yellow with very active carbonation.

Smell is mildly floral, grassy and dusty. Taste has a smoothly sweet golden delicious apple flavor. A little bit of lemon, and floral hops.

Very refreshing, though slightly filling. This would be great for the summer months.

Pours very clear golden yellow color. Crisp white head that dissipates quickly, leaving moderate lacing.

Not much nose, what is there is light wheat and a hint of citrus.

Nice clean taste, fruity/citrusy, with a slightly sweet finish. Good mouth feel for a lager! Slight muskiness on the aftertaste. No real hop presence.

All in all a good representation of an Irish Lager. It would definitely go down easy on a hot summer day. Also doesn't seem to have much ABV, so it would probably do well as a St. Patty's session beer.

Pours a pale straw color, very clear, white head that quickly dissipates. Very much a lager
Not much smell but hints of citrus and wheat.
Nice easy drinking lager with just enough flavor to keep it interesting and actually complex. Bright carbonation with a mellow hops and a subtle malty background; finishes with a sweet citrus flavor.
Great on the palate and very drinkable. This would be perfect on a hot day or such.

This was the first beer that pulled me away from my staple of Bud. I was with a buddy of mine (tehankh) and we just decided to try something we had never had before. I cant honestly say this was the best beer every, but at the time with only Bud to compare to it was heaven. It has been only a few months since this happened but i can happily admit that both me and my friend have since affectionately taken on the title of beer geek.

Now the review. Trying to do this from memory so bare with me.

A. Poured a crystal clear golden with a nice white head.

S. A small amount of citrus and hops.

T. Taste like it smells, nothing crazy but well balanced.

M. Crisp light and refreshing.

D. Very drinkable, would love to get some more of this.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Poured a cloudy golden color with a very thick sticky white heading. A nice malty smell with a good blend of hops. Again taste is malty, hoppy, and a good citrus taste. A very easy beer to drink would like to have another but I don't want to get up.

Bomber poured into a Pilsner glass...

Pours a bright golden color, very clear with a decent foamy white head that left good lacing throughout the drink.

Well carbonated with bubbles rising from the bottom for the entire drink.

Taste is very typical of a Euro lager, reminded me a lot of many different macro beers I tried while in Poland this past summer.

Overall a nice light and easy drinking beer but nothing special really stuck out in my mind to set this beer apart.

A - This beer poured a golden yellow color that produced a nicely sized, fluffy white head had some retention and laced sparesly along the glass

S - The aromas produced by this beer had grainy malt characteristics and grassy hops

T - The taste of this beer had a light, grainy malt start, the hops in this beer is not the "in your face" American style that we are used to, but it this beer it is very level and well intergrated

M - The mouthfeel of this beer had a light body with a moderate amount of carbonation

D - This beer was a very good session beer, but since I cannot get it in 6-packs, it has to get some points taken away for the cost of it

Lovely straw colour--nice drinkable crispness--pleasant finish--very palatable mouthfeel.

The Rogue guys really brewed a pleasant session 'pils-type' lager here--great bottle design.

The touch of wheat adds a nice bit of sharpness to the barley malt.

Bomber poured to pilsner.

A: Pours a golden color with a two finger head that has amazing retention and leaves lacing all the way from top to bottom with bubbles of carbonation flowing for the entire drink.

S: Smells slightly hoppy with a bit of malt and some fruit.

T: Tastes about the same as it smells, noting special, nicely balanced. Fairly dry with no bitterness.

Best things about this drink were the look, mouthfeel, and drinkability. Could drink this one all day and it stays extremely crisp. Will buy again, great for some social drinking.

Beautiful straw colored lager with a nice foamy white head. Smells of vienna malt, sweet and inviting. The beer has no discernable hop aroma, but that totally works for the style.

This is a wonderfully balanced beer. Wonderful malt flavor balances perfectly with the hop bitterness. The beer is dry and thirst quenching. There is an odd flavor at the end...kind of an earthy frutiness. It's not bad, but I have never tasted anything like it before.

The mouthfeel and drinkability are very good. Crisp and lager-like, I could drink gallons of this stuff. My only issue is that it seems slightly overcarbonated. Other than that...LOVE it!

smell: i think it smells very inviting. first whif reminds me of honey and you can notice the hops more here than in the actual flavor.

taste: yummy. no flavors are over the top here. it gets a bit frothy but i think its needed to add body to the over-all feel. its probably attributed to the bisquit notes from the famous yeast that rogue uses in there beers. its clean. you get a grassy fragrance toward the finish thats over almost before you notice it. the finish goes on and on and its leaves a good taste of fruits on the tongue.

s: Not much, a little sweet grain.

t: Sweet, slightly biscuity malts and little to no hops to speak of.

m: Crisp and long lasting active carbonation.

d: This was good for what it is, but I won't look for another.

smell was kind of fruity, grassy, grainy. It smell of light citrus noble hops. Not a strong overpowering aroma but its followed by a light malt presence.

taste was pretty good if you like non adventurous Euro lagers.

Appearance: Golden Yellow with hues of orange. The beer is cloudy and there is some carbonation in the glass. There was a head, but it only lasted but a few seconds, leaving a thin white line.

Nose: Toasted malts, green apples, pears, spices, and sweet honey with a yeasty hint. There was hints of citrus, ester, cut grass, and butterscotch.

Taste: A nice complex toasted malt a bit different from the nose. There was green apples, pears, honey and spice. The notes were citrus, resin, and hops.

Overall: Another descent beer from "Rouge Ales". I was slightly disappointed I felt it was a bit thin. The mouth feel had a little bit of carbonation with a nice fresh cut green apple finish that is astringent. I noticed that is kinda had a pilsner feel but it was heavier than a Pils.

Pours a straw yellow color, grassy smell, slight malty taste. I'm not sure of the age of this beer as it was in the discount section, it doesn't taste skunked.

Nothing really to write home about, I could see drinking for our five of these bombers on St Patty.s

Rogue Kells Irish Style

From a 22 ounce bomber. Pours light amber into the glass with about a 1" head.
Some lacings. I paid about $3.49 US for the bottle. Slightly fruity aroma.
Tastes like a high quality macro with a little bit more character.
A good session beer, but most micro drinkers will be dissapointed.
I would say this compares well with some of the bigger name European beers. Drinkabilty is very good.
Overall a bit of a let down from a fine brewer.

Very nice lager. Pours clear gold with a surprisingly thick white head. Good carbonation, not too bubbly. Nothing really stands out in the aroma; mostly grass and yeast. The flavor is more of the same. Good mix of malt and yeast, with some hops for that pilsner taste. Balanced, but not spectacular.

This beer is a perfect example of what happens when a very good brewer tries to flood the market with too many new products....every now and then, they are really gonna hit a loser. If someone had offered me this beer in an unmarked glass, I would swear I was drinking a lower grade BMC product or Caribean lager.

Pale yellow with little carbonation, thin white head and a grainy nose. Flavor was, again, the grainy quality of a cheap BMC, and the palate was watery, metallic and stale.

Stick to quality and not quantity, Rogue!!!
