22 oz bottle was poured into a pint glass.
Appearance: This beer poured some finger head that reduced to a thin layer. Nice lacing from the reduced foam too. It is a pitch black color with no clarity or bubbles seen coming up through the glass. Crazy frothy lacing on the glass as the beer was drank.
Smell: Chocolate, bready, and smoky malts. Citrus, pine, and earthy notes from the hops.
Taste: Pretty much getting a blend of hops and malts with lingering ashy bitterness from the barley. Somewhat extremely lingering. A few more sips and still there. It mellowed put after a while.
Mouthfeel: Ash, bitter, full bodied, low to medium carbonation, and lingering bitterness.
Overall: Solid ABA here by Rogue. I feel the bitterness could be lightened up a bit and this beer could be more enjoyable.
