Poured from a 22oz bomber into a pint glass. Pours a dark black (with a little bit of red mixed in) with about a finger of head. The aroma is typical for the style, piney hops mixed with roasted malts, and a hint of chocolate. The taste also has the malts, but doesn't taste as "chewy" or thick as other black IPAs that I've had. It finishes off with some bitterness and chocolate notes, but not an overwhelming amount. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with ample carbonation, and is pleasantly creamy.
Overall this is a nice black IPA but nothing special. Worth checking out though if you can get it for a good price.
