12oz bottle into tulip

A: a very pale hazy with a moderate head that has O.K. retention and lacing.

S: aroma is more that of an assertive american pale. good balance between the american hops as well as malts. not much of the juniper berries thus far. as it warms more juniper comes out, but still it is a little faint for my liking.

T: a crisp and menthol-ly hop flavor. obviously from both the hops are the juniper berries. a light malt body backs both. more of the juniper comes out as the beer warms.

M: moderate mouthfeel on a light/medium body. a bit too light.

D: not a bad tasting brew, but not really worth seeking in particular. more on the APA side of that and a herbed beer. like i stated above wouldnt hate more juniper on both the nose and the palate. drinkable for sure, but leaves me longing more.

Appearance - Pours a semi-clear, golden sunset orange with a white, near two-finger head. Good retention, leads to a broken, webbed layer of suds across the surface. Strong lacing left around the glass with nice stick.

Smell - White bready aroma with berry and spice notes.

Taste - Follows the nose. Clean malt bill allows the juniper to shine through with touches of berry fruitiness and a light spice bite. Notes of grassy bitterness in the finish.

Mouthfeel - Light to medium in body with lively carbonation lends itself to a crisp, dry finish.

Overall - A good pale overall. Nothing mindblowing, but great balance in flavor and mouthfeel and entirely drinkable; quite quaffable.

The bottle blurb describes the beer as “saffron” color and I think that is pretty accurate. Good size head that never completely disappears – leaves some lacing. Sweet bouquet with some honey and a touch of pine underneath. The flavor has a lot of round malt tastes, not as piney as I was expecting (hoping) given the juniper berries, really no gin character. Perhaps slightly underhoped. Still, quite tasty. Mouthfeel is round and soft, with a delicate finish.

Looks like a pale orange juice in a glass with a medium white head. Slightly cloud, opaque, sort of an apricot color.

Similar to other pale ales, with some differences. Has a pleasant combination of citrus, fruit, and pine.

Tastes like it smells, only the flavors aren't as strong as the scent. Having said that, pine and citrus fruits are evident, just not as pronounced as in the smell.

Has the bite of a pale ale, but lacks the carbonation I expected giving the bite some subtlety. It starts off sweet for an initial second, then leans towards bitter.

Another good beer by Rogue. Moderate alcohol and no offensive hoppy bite make this a pretty smooth drinking beer.

Pours out a very weak ice tea color with one finger of white suds and slight lacing around the glass.
Smell is juniper berry I guess but I am smelling some grapefruit and pine needles. Orange peel mixed with caramel malts finish this aroma off.
Taste is a bit dirty but still has enough piney hops to keep it interesting.
Mouthfeel is clean for the most part and it goes down nicely when fairly cold.
Good session beer but Dead Guy is a better choice.
