Pours a slightly cloudy, yellowish-gold color. Tons of carbonation buttles rising throughout the glass. A 3 1/2 finger head that recedes quickly leaving decent lacing.

Initially, the aroma is redolent of hops, but the smell of honey-like malt soon arises and eventually predominates.

The first taste impression is of honey. soon balanced nicely by a hoppy bitterness and a hint of juniper.

Medium mouthfeel. Slightly syrupy, again reminiscent of honey. Very peppery carbonation. Smooth and silky.

A good drinker. Very pleasant.

This beer doesn't get the props it deserves. It is a very interesting beer, listed as an Herb/Spice, but comes across like a badass Pale. Nice earthy florals on the nose, big hay-straw hoppy tongue.

No dates to indicate what, when, where, but I have a feeling it was pretty fresh. All its characteristics were very lively and very jumpy. I am not a huge fan of this style, but I did very much like this beer.

Ill keep this one simple...
Light yellow with a little haze...
Smells like flowers pine and sugar....
Tastes like an IPA and I spice cabinet, not to mention when you eat it with turkey you want more and Visa Versa...
Great Pale ale and makes thanks giving a blast.

Drank this on-tap at the Rogue Portland brewpub. Poured a clear, honey yellow with a small, foamy white head. Pretty good retention. I'm not sure what juniper is supposed to smell or taste like, so it's hard to judge the beer. The predominant flavor and aroma is honey actually: a sort of tasty sweet/sour combination. Some herbal elements - is that the juniper? Surprisingly hoppy on the center of the tongue, with a distinctly grainy finish. Appropriate mouthfeel, good carbonation. Overall, easy to drink, just not that amazing.

Cloudy gold body with a very smooth creamy white head. Decently carbonated with bubbles rushing upwards. Nice lacing throughout the glass.

Somewhat floral sweet smell with grain. Not really impressed.

Slight bitterness upfront, metallic taste. This is quite bland for a Rogue Brewery offering. This is not horrible but not good. As it sits for a little bit a taste of honey is noticeable.

Body is light feels a little too carbonated.

Drink ability isn't good. I'm really not impressed with the taste or the feel.

This beer is lacking almost everywhere. I don't think I'd bother with it again.

Kind of golden colored, bubbly. Smells very strongly of berries. Taste begins sweet of a wild berry but finishes with a strong bitter taste that ends in hoppiness. Not a bad beer, I wasn't sure what to expect when I popped the top on this bottle. It would probably go very good with some boneless honey wings. It goes down easy enough to go back for seconds

A: Deep straw color with a lot of billowy white head. Maybe 2 1/2 fingers, not much retention, but a fair amount of lacing.

S: Strong flavor of hops, and some slight juniper smell. Slightly floral, really great smell.

T: Wow, what a letdown. Tastes watery, some slight hops on the finish, but not a whole lot else. I'm not tasting any juniper, almost no malt. Terribly out of balance and weak.

M: Mouthfeel is fine: Light, nice amount of carbonation. Very refreshing.

D: Very drinkable, just not good. I would never pay money for this again. I had high hopes since I love gin so much, but this is an enormous disappointment. More proof that Rogue is a mediocre, overpriced brewery.

2001 edition. Many bubbles ascend rapidly to form a frothy white head with great staying power. Pale orange/copper in color, definitely pale ale. Sweet floral hop aromas abound in the nose. Hints of toasted malt and what I'm guessing is the product of juniper berries from the bottle's statement (but I've never had juniper berries, so I wouldn't know). Flavors appear that jump between malty and hoppy as it rolls over your palate, and combine in a well-balanced sweetness. Medium body. Hints of what I again assume is the juniper abound. Later on, a small amount of rind-like flavor appears and leaves a bit of bitterness behind on the edges of your tongue. Although I expected more of a spicy brew, this is a great, well-balanced beer that I find very satisfying.

22 ounce bomber, one of the coolest beer bottles in the world like all other Rogue bottles. It pours a brilliant burnt orange color, with a HUGE creamy white head of frothiness. It's quite amazing to me actually as the head refuses the effects of gravity and dissipation for quite a while.
The aroma is all hops, zingy like a german pale ale can be. There's not much else to smell really, no juniper berries to smell here.
As far as flavor and mouthfeel, it's all dominated by hop characters. I'm not sure exactly what Juniper berries have to offer a beer, but in this case it seems like nothing more than an additional oily, grassy, dry finished flavor to combine with the hops already in there to make this a hoppy beer overall, and seem lacking. It's smooth though somehow, not super pungent like some IPA styles can be, and not really crisp like some american pale ales can be.
Overall it's still an enjoyable beer from Rogue who I enjoy every brew in their lineup to some extent. That being said, I won't be buying this brew again, but I'm also not disappointed either, merely a slightly above average satisfaction.

Pours a sunny yellow/orange hue with decent clarity. The initial 1/2" head is retained fairly well, with a little bit of lacing clinging to the glass. In the aroma I could pick up sweet maltiness, a spray of citrus and a little bit of the juniper. After a taste, I get sweet bread out of this, and European hop bitterness. The finish comes off as herbal and is where one mostly tastes the juniper. It's very subtle, I wish it was more dominant. This beer is primarily an APA, and there are better ones out there. Still worth a try if you want a dash of something different in the mix.

Watch out where the huskies go, don't you eat the yellow snow...
A light yellow pour with a good size head. It had a semi floral smell, nothing spectacular. I didn't care much for the taste I was upset with the lack of balance that rogue usually exceeds in. I like hoppy, but this was too much.

Pours a orange/amber color with a fluffy 1 finger head. Not much lace action happening.

Smells of a citrusy hop aroma & sweet caramel malt notes. Don't get much of any juniper.

Sweet maltiness up front, bisquity/bready, some hop bitterness, herbal, medicinal, spicy, dry lingering finish. Quite a bit going on actually.

Medium bodied, creamy, dry.

A 22 oz bottle not a chore at all. I'd gladly have again.

Interesting brew from Rogue. What else is new? Rogue is typically hit or miss for me. Although this one is somewhere in the middle.

There's a dry, biscuity malt base with soft bitter hops. The finish is dry, bitter and lemony.

Medium bodied with a dry mouthfeel and decent carbonation.

Harmony:
Interesting but not that great.

Would I get it again?:
No

Appearance: Pours a dull gold with a bit of chill haze. A creamy, off-white head starts strong and stays that way.

Smell: I pick up on dry grains, a touch of hops, and juniper berries. Has a fairly weak aroma compared to other Rogue brews.

Taste: Has a good balance between the malt and hops. The hop profile is quite constrained considering the brewer. The juniper berries are way in the background...good idea.

Mouthfeel: Fairly thin mouthfeel, with a crisp, dry finish. I think the addition of juniper berries add a nice dryness.

Drinkability: Pretty high considering the spice flavor is very laid back. The good balance and dry finish make it an easy-drinking brew.

While not one of Rogue's best brews, it is an interesting pale ale.
