Pours an amber colour, creamy head and a thin layer of foam that persisted. Floral aroma, hoppy, berries. Hopped up, fruity and dry. Sweet fruit, balanced by a good amount of bitterness. I always like a hopped up pale ale, and this one suited me just fine. Would drink this more often, but a bit pricey around here. Anchor liberty is a better and cheaper alternative.

Out of a 12 oz. bottle and into a pint glass. No freshness date.

A - Pours a pretty hazy golden/yellow hue with a fluffy white head.

S - The hops and juniper combine to create a pretty floral bouquet. Beneath this lies some honey, lemon, and a bit of grassiness.

T - Much the same as the aroma. The juniper presents almost as an aftertaste, akin to straight gin. Nothing earth shattering, but nothing off-putting.

M - Light to medium feel. It's pretty refreshing and I'd rather have this on a hot summer day.

D - Pretty drinkable. The pale ale taste is supplemented by juniper rather than allowing the supporting role to take over.

Just above average, I was kind of exspecting more. Nice yellowish amber color with a lacey head. It is kinda "flat" however. Subtle hops, just barely there. Nothing really jumps out at you, except the name. I would drink this again, but I won't go out of my way to find it.

Don't eat the yellow snow, but by all means, drink it! This ale pours a nice, dark golden hue from the tap and features a durable, bubbly head. The nose, typical of most Rogue products, is quite hoppy, leaving not much else to the imagination. The taste is very pleasing and balanced, featuring a nice amount of bittering hops, malt, and some fruit (Juniper berries). The carbonation is just right on this one, and drinkability-wise, Yellow Snow scores high. A quality offering, and well worth seeking out on tap.

Picked up a bottle of Puffin Pale Ale (new alias!) at Rogue's Public House in San Francisco ('free range coastal waters' in the ingredients)

a- cloudy, light copper/orange hue with small, white, creamy head that is mostly diminishing, moderate lacing
s- nose has subdued tones of dry maltiness, with underlying hops and very slight berry aroma
t- dominated by maltiness in the front and middle followed up by a bitter hoppy finish, and yes i catch a little berry in the middle that is probably of the Juniper variety
m- medium bodied, adequate carbonation, dry prolonged finish
d- well-balanced pale ale with nice blending of 4 malts and 2 hops, alcohol is well-hidden, not the most outstanding choice in the pale ale category, I doubt I would have an urge for a repeat tasting

Pours a slightly cloudy, yellowish-gold color. Tons of carbonation buttles rising throughout the glass. A 3 1/2 finger head that recedes quickly leaving decent lacing.

Initially, the aroma is redolent of hops, but the smell of honey-like malt soon arises and eventually predominates.

The first taste impression is of honey. soon balanced nicely by a hoppy bitterness and a hint of juniper.

Medium mouthfeel. Slightly syrupy, again reminiscent of honey. Very peppery carbonation. Smooth and silky.

A good drinker. Very pleasant.

Poured from a bomber into a pint glass.

A: Pours hazy pale gold with creamy white uneven head. Good retention and lacing.

S: Light pale malts balance with some citrus hops and a light smell of fresh yeast. in a word - nice.

T&M: Flavors are balance very well. The fresh aromas transfer nicely to the flavors as this sold wash of flavors envelops the tongue with a creamy texture that just adds to the experience. The carbonation is light and continuous. The finish is quick, clean and lingers just slightly with dry balance of hops and malt.

D: Most enjoyable. Easy to drink, very fresh tasting, and definitely something that I would seek out again in the future. Nice.

Ill keep this one simple...
Light yellow with a little haze...
Smells like flowers pine and sugar....
Tastes like an IPA and I spice cabinet, not to mention when you eat it with turkey you want more and Visa Versa...
Great Pale ale and makes thanks giving a blast.

Pours a hazy orange color. Medium head of small bubbles. Aroma is of orange peal and pine.
Taste is balanced with a malty sweetness and orange citrus hops. Interesting interplay between the Amarillo hops and Munich malts… The juniper berries show more in the aftertaste, but do make an appearance in the taste as well. Slight pine in the flavor, slight gin like aftertaste.
Very drinkable and enjoyable.

A: Deep straw color with a lot of billowy white head. Maybe 2 1/2 fingers, not much retention, but a fair amount of lacing.

S: Strong flavor of hops, and some slight juniper smell. Slightly floral, really great smell.

T: Wow, what a letdown. Tastes watery, some slight hops on the finish, but not a whole lot else. I'm not tasting any juniper, almost no malt. Terribly out of balance and weak.

M: Mouthfeel is fine: Light, nice amount of carbonation. Very refreshing.

D: Very drinkable, just not good. I would never pay money for this again. I had high hopes since I love gin so much, but this is an enormous disappointment. More proof that Rogue is a mediocre, overpriced brewery.

This beer doesn't get the props it deserves. It is a very interesting beer, listed as an Herb/Spice, but comes across like a badass Pale. Nice earthy florals on the nose, big hay-straw hoppy tongue.

No dates to indicate what, when, where, but I have a feeling it was pretty fresh. All its characteristics were very lively and very jumpy. I am not a huge fan of this style, but I did very much like this beer.

Drank this on-tap at the Rogue Portland brewpub. Poured a clear, honey yellow with a small, foamy white head. Pretty good retention. I'm not sure what juniper is supposed to smell or taste like, so it's hard to judge the beer. The predominant flavor and aroma is honey actually: a sort of tasty sweet/sour combination. Some herbal elements - is that the juniper? Surprisingly hoppy on the center of the tongue, with a distinctly grainy finish. Appropriate mouthfeel, good carbonation. Overall, easy to drink, just not that amazing.

Cloudy gold body with a very smooth creamy white head. Decently carbonated with bubbles rushing upwards. Nice lacing throughout the glass.

Somewhat floral sweet smell with grain. Not really impressed.

Slight bitterness upfront, metallic taste. This is quite bland for a Rogue Brewery offering. This is not horrible but not good. As it sits for a little bit a taste of honey is noticeable.

Body is light feels a little too carbonated.

Drink ability isn't good. I'm really not impressed with the taste or the feel.

This beer is lacking almost everywhere. I don't think I'd bother with it again.
