New in town. I like a good pilsner so hope this one is worth the price.

Nice bright amber gold colour, great clarity. Sizable bone white head. Good web s of lacing.

Typical czech pils aroma. Cracker malts, slightly yeasty grains, and a grassy/slightly lemony kick to it.

Nice! Good balance between the crisp cracker malts, doughy breads and the slightly lemony hops.

Certianly tends towards a solid medium in the feel department. Almost a meal in a glass.

Very good take on the style. Liked this one A LOT.

I like a well made sturdy pilsner and this fits the bill,Iam not sure if I have had the Liberty hop variety yet.Poured into a pilsner a clear light to medium golden with thinner but well put together white head that lasted for quite awhile.Freshly baked crispy bread malt aromas along with leafy/herbal hops in the nose, the malt aroms are very fresh and appetizing.Crisp and "hefty" malt aromas at the onset, not as delicate as most pilsners,a healthy dose of leafy hops in the finish. This is a big pilsner, some may say to big...not me.I think it would pair great shellfish.

Had this on tap at ROGUE Ales Publick House in San Francisco.

In a pilsner glass the beer was a golden color. The head was white, medium-sized, and left a bit of lace. Pretty carbonation. Sweet, bready aroma. Grassy, outdoors hops. Bready taste followed by grassy hops, with some late citrus hops. A crisp, refreshing beer.

Brewed using 5 ingredients: Weyermann acidulated, Rogue Micro Barley Farm Dare Floor Malt, Rogue Micro Hopyard Liberty Hops, Czech Pils Wyeast 2278 and Free Range Coastal Water. Specs: 13º PLATO 40 IBU

Nice pilsner but nothing special.

A- Clear yellow, straw like, really good Pilsner color. White head sticks around for a bit, nice lacing.

S- Bread, Hops, floral a bit herbal

T-So good, best Pilsner i've had, refreshing, clean and crisp with a definitive hopiness that i havent seen in other pilsners.

M-Light but just about perfect for what it is, good carbonation and clean finish.

O- Just one of those beers that I love, so refreshing, has a hop flavor to it but not a heavy one, very drinkable. give this a shot it wont disappoint.

Pours with a slight chill haze with a bright lemony body, head forms thick, a tight bubbled thicket that really works well. Even lacing lines the sides of my new nonic pint glasses this is a beautiful looking beer. Aroma is packed with herbal/spicy hops even a bit of lemongrass notes kicking, with perfect biscuit malt breadiness. This is top notch pilsner, more authentic then most of the Euro pils trash that is sent over stateside. Straight up effortless to consume, the best pils of 2011 easily in the last ten years of my beer tasting top 5 favorite for the style and brewing this quality of an overlooked style screams about everything I love about beer. The next extreme barrel aged with dates and figs, with vanilla beans doesn't do beer the type of justice that an honest to goodness...flawless beer has to offer. Has qaulities of the first run of Noble pils but perfects it on a couple leveles by simply streamlining and adding a touch of mineral/sulfur infused water with the perfect level of hops balanced with straw biscuit malted barley that they are doing themselves. I don't associate Liberty hops with a pils usually Saaz come to mind with some other Noble hop variants. This nails the flavor, body is perfect crips rounded bitterness that keeps you wanting to drink and drink. Maybe a case of this will be out there, but the downside comes with the fact that I paid around 7.99 a bottle. Pittsburgh is known for their mark ups, I'd picture this beer to ring up around 4 to 5 dollars a bomber.

On tap in Asheville.
Looks light a light lager with a small but durable head.
The aroma and flavor reflect a delicate, rather light pilsner. Nicely clean and refreshing. Longer lasting hop finish than expected. Light body but not watery. A little dry in the finish.

Golden yellow with a ring of head, this looked and smelled a little lighter than I expected, but certainly within the normal range.

Aromas were dominated by floral hops. Not bad, but again playing up the light angle more than I find ideal. The taste hits home with pale malt, biscuit, and enough hop bitterness to hang on and remind me it is a proper pilsner. Slightly sharp in the mouth, this is a good representation.

650ml bottle, 5.3% ABV, per the good folks at the AGLC. The newest in the First Growth series to hit the local shelves.

This beer pours a clear, pale golden yellow hue, with one finger of thin, tight foamy white head, which leaves an undulating wash of low-lying lace around the glass for its meager efforts.

It smells of white bready, grainy malt, a bit of aged citrus, and musty, earthy, somewhat leafy hops. The taste picks up the slack in a commendable way - the grain slides nicely into a decent crispy crackery nature, the citrus becoming more lemon-like, but still sedate, and kind of oily, with a twinge of petrol. The hops provide a more than adequate bitterness, borne of leaf and grass, ensuring Pils worthiness.

The carbonation is moderate, with a zingy palate twist at times, the body a sub-medium weight - no shame there, given the attendant smoothness. It finishes off-dry, the malt losing a share of its crispness, but the hops sticking to their contract, and hey, another dose of it all is imminent anyways.

A decidedly good drinker, good 'domestic' pilseners being not that common. I could do with a tad more bitterness, but that's just splitting hairs at this point. I like the old-world gasoline and hops leanings, so good on Rogue for going that way. Pretty good chit, indeed.

A: Light amber in color with a moderate head. Not much retention. Lots of good lacing here.

S: Floral notes, butter and cream, light hops.

T: Pretty similar to the smell. A grassy, light hop flavor makes up the backbone of this one. Finishes bitter.

M: Medium carbonation, light body, and a dry finish. Crisp, refreshing, and quite drinkable.

O: This wasn't bad at all. Not something I would be keeping an eye out for in the future, though.

It should be noted I'm drinking this at near room temperature.

Appearance - Pours a clear, golden yellow. For a pilsner, it's the most impressive head I've seen. 2 fingers thick, excellent retention, and the lace is spotty but semi-sticky.

Smell - Tart, green apples. a touch of spice.

Taste - Tart, with grassy hop notes. A touch of citrus. A touch of spice. Beautiful complexity, especially considering it's style.

Mouthfeel - Light to medium body. Crsip. Clean. Beautiful.

Overall - Yeah, this is everything Rogue's Kells promises, but fails to deliver. This is a pilsner to be revered. Almost ale-like in it's complexity and deepness. By far my favorite 'bottom fermenting' beer. I encourage you, drink it only a touch chilled. You won't regret it.
