22oz bottle, unclear bottling date. Thanks Shaun. Poured into a TG snifter today, 3/20/2014.

App- Slighty hazy straw-yellow body, minimal one finger white head that dissipates quickly. Looks refreshing. Some spots of lacing but otherwise not a ton.

Smell- First thing that comes to mind is tart. A lemon zesty tartness that made me immediately wonder if this beer was infected. But otherwise it fades as it warms, with a nice dank noble hoppiness and breadiness.

Flavour- Bready, noble hops, otherwise forgettable. Solid pilsner flavour that would work well on a hot summer day rather than a winter day like this.

Mouthfeel- Medium bodied, a bit more fuller bodied than the European examples. Good carbonation. Easy to drink and not particularly bitter.

Overall- Decent American take on the Czech pilsner style, a bit different than what I'm accustomed to. Decent pricing as well, $5 for a bomber. Not the worst in any criteria you can use for this beer.

eyes...
this thing exploded out of the bottle... has me worried as this shot all over the place (this has been sitting in my cellar for some months), hazy golden straw color, a decent amount of carbonation, small white head that does retain very nicely, good lacing as well, a good looking
pils

nose...
earthy, grainy, baked hearth bread, if you hunt for it there is a honey note playing hide and seek with your nose, nice

taste etc...
really smooth, almost silky, not overpowering flavor but kind of a really lingering string of notes, you get some biscuity grain (almost chewy), some slight bitterness, some nice malt flavor as well, this really sticks to the palette, it is at once refreshing but also satisfying for a pilsner (without destroying the style), this might be fuller than most pils you run across but the balance is just right as to not be a detriment, and oddly enough with the veritable explosion when I opened this the carbonation is pretty tame.

verdict?
eminently drinkable, super smooth, maybe not the most complex thing around but the malt is really a star here, looking forward to having this in the summer watching jeter's last hurrah or at a BBQ

Poured from the bottle into my oversized pilsen glass.

Poured a slightly hazy yellow color, maybe a tiny bit of orange. The fluffy, billowy head stuck around for a while and just barely popped out of the glass, beautiful. White lacing stuck around for a while. The nose has some cool herbal, grassy hops that remind me of a field after a rain storm. There's more grass/hay taste in the beginning, and finishes with some bitter fruit (grapefruitish). The mouthfeel is a bit creamier than expected, but still fairly thin. carbonation is on the lower end of pilsners.

Overall, this is a nice pilsner. I wanted to save it for slightly warmer weather, but I have trouble letting craft pilsners sit around. The abv keeps this from being something I drink in the middle of a Memphis summer, but its a nice spring evening brew.

If you don't like delicate, flowery and wet, cracker-hued pilsners then this is not the beer for you. While not assertive in any way, it drinks clean and is ridiculously refreshing. Worth the price, but the desire for an immediate 2nd is what costs you.

Golden color with a frothy head with good retention and leaving laces. A few floating particles.
Aroma of bready malt, vanilla and some citrusy.
Sweet malty taste with a hint of citrus and herbal and floral hops. Just a hint of sweet spices.
Dry and bitter aftertaste, not aggressive but lasts forever.
Medium body with a low carbonation and a relatively smooth feeling.
A mellow and very fresh pilsner, extremely easy to drink, even with its 40 IBUs.

I purchased this bomber at Giant for 6.99, enjoyed chilled in a pair of glasses, shared with tenderbranson69.

The color is golden like white grape juice with light haze and thick 2 + fingers of pillowy white cap with average bead. The smell has a mineral note up front with subtle herbal /floral odor and subltle fruity yeast aroma. The feel is very good with moderate bitterness and light resinous texture with mild malt sweetness and medium carbonation with slightly full feel.

The taste is very green with slight fruity flavor with and mild creamy yeast notes with a good amount of pilsner malt flavor and slight spice tinge with mellow dry herbal flavor that lasts after the swallow. The hops give a strong green tea-like taste with mild pear tinge from the yeast. The drinkability is pretty high considering the abv of this strong pilsner. It is no Imperial Pils, but there is enough hop taste to stand up and I would drink this again considering it fits the style well

flat out the best pils ive had in ages. why? because its something totally different. huge props for malting your own grains, and this is unlike any pilsener ive had. it pours a hazy yellow, not quite mountain dew, but equally electric and almost artificial looking, cloudy, and light airy white bubbles on top. the nose is almost tart, acidic in some ways, hoppy, liberty hops I believe they use here, and its quite a bit more aggressive the original Czech versions. yeast is nice too, and works perfectly with a very interesting grain bill. the malt is very light, almost like wheat, but more potent in flavor and more acidic. very light and drinkable though, and the yeast gives it a bready complex that adds depth and body to an otherwise very light glass of beer. carbonation is excellent, and this just feels great in the mouth. this is a great series rogue puts on, and this is one of the best beers in it. I will start drinking this regularly if I can find it, just fantastic beer, an art form really.

A: Briliantly clear straw yello color with tiny little bubbles shooting up from the bottom of the proper pilsner glass. The head poured an inch tall and receeded at a moderate pace leaving behind vertical striping lacing and a clump of foam on the top of the beer.

S: Very prominant noble, spicey hop aroma. very clean. Hints of zesty lemon and yeasty bread aroma

T: Omph! Refreshingly clean and moderatly bitter bitterness that stays consistant with the noble aroma. The hop flavor stays firm all the way through to the end but never gets over bering. The malt flavor is light and but never sweet. And there is an extremely clean fermentation character making this very very drinkable.

M: Light body with a very dry finish. moderate carbonation with some dryness left on the tounge from the bitterness.

O: Oh how I love a good pilsner, I definatly overlooked this one, but no more!! Clean, flavorful refreshing lager. Any one that clames to be a hop head and can't apreciate a good pilsner.. I just don't understand. Prost!

S: Pleasant, slightly herbal and earthy hops with some bready maltiness. Clean overall.

L: Hazy straw yellow, big white fluffy head with great retention and lacing.

T: Bready, slightly fruity malt, with a prominent, spicy, herbal hop flavor. Medium bitterness with a big herbal/spicy note into the finish. An almost tart finish, quite dry.

M: Medium bodied, medium carbonation.

Ok, a little too hoppy and quite bracing for what i prefer for this style.

Pours an effervescent straw color with 2 fingers of pearl colored head. Slightly cloudy , nice head retention & lacing

S: Bready, crackery & soapy

T: Follows the nose, plus leafy hops up front. Flinty dryness, leafy hops & soapiness as this warms, some yeastiness. Finishes dry, soapy with some chalkiness & leafy hops

MF: Medium bodied, firm carbonation, alright balance

This isn't really working for me, probably the liberty hops. Just not a very good pils, not terrible, almost tastes stale. Drinks okay, not easy. I grow more skeptical of Rogue with each new beer I try, so many dissapointments, so few good ones

650ml bottle poured into my tall pilsener glass 26/7/13

A slightly hazy pale yellow with lots of sediment being pushed around by streams of growing bubbles, two fingers of loose foam is still around at the bottom of my glass but only leaves a few patches of random of lace

S sweet malt, honey, herbal hops, grassy notes, some cracker and a little citrus

T not far from the nose a little sweet and grainy but I rather like it, a hint of spice, not a bad tasting pil

M light bodied, soft carbonation stops short of foam, a hint of spicy hops, cracker and citrus on the finish

O my bombers gone already, this one sunk like a ship and that says something, something I'd drink again for sure

I'm not familiar with the hop but it tastes noble to me when I was expecting a big American hop, maybe my minds playing tricks on my but my empty glass says it all

Poured into a pint glass out of a 22oz bomber.

Pours a nearly clear straw yellow with a half finger fizzy white head. Not very good head retention and no lacing to speak of.

There is bread and a little bit of biscuit in the aroma with a heavy hint of grassy hops.

There is a bit more malt in the flavor than I was expecting with caramel and biscuit. Grass and hay make up the hop flavor along with an assertive bitterness. It ends with some lingering sweetness and is moderately sticky.

Overall, an ok pils but far from my favorite. Glad I got to try but it won't become a regular.

Thick white head. Cloudy liquid, particularly for the style. Straw colored. Some spotty lace on the glass.

Clean smell--very pale malt aroma and a whiff of hop cones. Reminds me of a Kolsch.

Much more bitter than I'd ever expect given the smell. Holding the liquid in my mouth, I can really taste the golden malts and a bit of the alcohol, but as soon as I swallow it's a near hop bomb. Rich body but with a higher level of carbonation. It works.

S- nice hop aroma that's very Pils like, a bit of malt sweetness, nice.

T- good tasting, hops are grassy, malt backs it up giving balance. Nice longish aftertaste.

M- on the low end of medium bodied with just the right carbonation.

Poured from a bottle and served in a pint glass...

A - Yellow golden color. Extremely clear with a nice creamy head that lasts all the way through the beer.

S - Rich floral aroma. Clean and light fragrance. Nothing overwhelming.

T - A little bit spicy, and some nice bitterness. Hoppier and a little bit fryer than I was expecting, but still a refreshing beer.

M - medium body with some creaminess. Heavier mouthfeel than I am used to with a pilsner, but I have not had many 6% pilsners.

O - An interesting first experience with a Bohemian pilsner. Good balance of hop and malt character. Not something I would necessarily go after again, but an experience nonetheless. I expected something a little more refreshing. What I got was a tad dry and more filling

Good Chit Pilsener pours a clear golden color, lots of carbonation, and with a nice long lasting lacing head. The smell is rather weak, and slightly offensive, reminds me of road kill. The taste however is very crisp, and has a good malty spike to it. Good full flavor, very crisp and refreshing. Overall a nice malty pils.

Serviceable drinkable pilsner. A little farm grown aroma to go with floral notes. Long lasting creamy white head on light yellow. Middle mouthfeel. Hits the mark in style, and at least an average beer.Assertive carbonation. Hops are significant, as is the taste of hay (not that I didn't like it).

Nice looking, tan and very clear with a nice white two finger head that lasted, leaving nice lacing.

Smell and taste: smooth and subdued, bready and lightly hoppy, grainy, lightly sweet and just a touch of something almost funky.

Body is very full and thick, almost slick, carbonation very smooth and more stout-like than the usual you'd expect from a pilsner. I almost want to say that the body doesn't match the style really, but it's damn fine and goes down great.

It's a damn likeable beer. While rogue is sometimes hit and miss for me, I think this one is quite tasty and well within the expectations for the style.

This is excellent.

Pale straw gold, big white head fairly quickly shrinks to a foamy ring and weak hint of lace.

Aroma is slightly funky vegetables, wet earth, hint of sulphur, yeasty bread dough noticeable after a minute, then mellows to a "wonderbread"-like element.

Taste is unusual, bitterness just barely, gently dominates from the start to finish. It is balanced with light sweetness, mineral, yeast. Hop bitterness is grassy-herbal, faintly medicinal and sticks to sides of tongue & cheeks gently in a nice, engaging way. Light sweetness and minerally yeasty bread dough dominate the centre of the tongue through thr aftertaste. It is engaging, lively, highly drinkable.

A - Pours with one finger of dense, white foam on top of a clear, light golden body. The head settles at a moderate pace and leaves excellent lace.

S - Musty pilsner malt with notes of honey and herbal hops.

T - Lightly sweet malt up front with some herbal hop character coming out in the middle. More musty, herbal hop flavor in the finish with dry, thin malt.

M - Medium body, moderately high carbonation, and a very dry finish.

D - Pretty nicely made, the hop character is right on and though the malt is a bit thin in my opinion but it is still very drinkable.
