It should be noted I'm drinking this at near room temperature.

Appearance - Pours a clear, golden yellow. For a pilsner, it's the most impressive head I've seen. 2 fingers thick, excellent retention, and the lace is spotty but semi-sticky.

Smell - Tart, green apples. a touch of spice.

Taste - Tart, with grassy hop notes. A touch of citrus. A touch of spice. Beautiful complexity, especially considering it's style.

Mouthfeel - Light to medium body. Crsip. Clean. Beautiful.

Overall - Yeah, this is everything Rogue's Kells promises, but fails to deliver. This is a pilsner to be revered. Almost ale-like in it's complexity and deepness. By far my favorite 'bottom fermenting' beer. I encourage you, drink it only a touch chilled. You won't regret it.

Chatoe First Growth Good Chit Pilsner
Rogue Ales
Style: Czech Pilsener
ABV: 6.00 %

LOOK: Pale yellow color, fair clarity, bone white soapy head forms and leaves plenty of lacing.

SMELL: Lager yeast, very bready malts, and herbal hop notes all emit from the glass. Smells like an import pils.

TASTE: Bready malts upfront, with a solid dose of leafy hop flavor. Herbs, earthy pine and resin flavors all pull through from the hops. Slight buttery note, a byproduct of lager yeast.

FEEL: Light bodied, crisp, carbonation at a high medium.

OVERALL: This is good Chhhit. A very serviceable pilsner that tastes much like an import. Would go just fine with many seafood dishes as well as some Asian entrees.

A: Somewhat typical of a pilsner, bright golden, small foamy white head, lot of carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass.

S: Lemony, slight citrus hop character behind it, semi-floral. Smells quite sweet with a good tartness behind it.

T: Really get a lot of lime flavors initially, goes into some earthy notes as well with some breadiness lingering at the end

M: Very creamy with a nice citrus bite

Overall this was quite nice. I usually don't really go for pilsners too much, but I'm glad I took the chance on this one.

The Good Chit and Single Malt Ale by Chatoe Rogue are the two best beers I've ever had for general beer consumption. Occasionally I like heavier and lighter beers, but for the standard, their single malt ale and the good chit are the best. Since I first tried these beers no other beer satisfies me, in the general range of beers, excluding heavies and true lights.

Here's my E=mc^2 description of this beer, and 'the good chit', which are both nearly indistinguishable, btw:

OMG, amazing, the best beers. The only beers that I have thought "How can I make these beers, these are the best I've ever had!" Because the balance of the flavor-nourishing-quality-feel is the best I've ever had.

Poured into a Jameson Irish Whiskey glass:
- Light golden liquid, medium white head.
- Beautiful light hoppy floral fruity aroma. Top quality.
- Amazing balance, only lightly sweet, grapefruity flavor, noticeable acid, but not too acid(whereas for example, S.N. Hefeweizen is too acid). For the alcohol content it has, it is not 'too sweet', and it is not 'mellow'. This is a lively refreshing and very nourishing feeling beer(though on the lighter refreshing side, but not too light, it has standard punch),...as part of a balanced diet.
The best. Amen!

App: "Fizzy Yellow Beer", almost clear, solid white head with some very nice lacing and retention.

Nose: Lemon, pungent yeast, salty crackers.

Taste: Clean, crisp, banana nut bread, calm, and a smooth malty texture.

Notes: This is what a pilsner tastes like when professional brewers concentrate. Worth the price, whatever it was.

A: A straw color with a slight chill haze and a finger's width white head that laces the glass.

S: Bready malt with a fresh earthy, grassy hop aroma.

T: The hop is immediately noticeable with a floral and earthy flavor that overpowers the malt. There is a very slight bready malt flavor and a slight sweetness. It finishes clean with a slight floral hop.

M: Light with good carbonation. Very refreshing.

O: I like the aroma and flavor of this beer. Pilseners can be hit and miss. This was a good one.
