22oz Bomber. Pours a deep reddish amber with a short-lived light tan head. Smells of pumpkin spice and malt. Tastes pretty much like it smells, which is a good thing. A little light on the mouthfeel, but with a nice effervescence. One of the better pumpkin ales I've tried. Would get this again. A good pumpkin ale to fall back on if you can't find anything else you'd rather try.

Poured from a bomber. Pours an orangey, maple brown with a thin beige head. Spices are strong on the aroma, cinnamon and nutmeg present, along with pumpkin to a lesser extent. Taste touches on the same notes as the aroma with some sweetness (but not too much) and a touch of vanilla, which is a nice finish. The feel is medium/light and the carbonation is airy in a somewhat unpleasant way. Overall this is a very well balanced pumpkin and a good dessert beer.

Draft in a snifter, freshly tapped. Had no color, no body, and no presence. Would equate it with a a "Coors Light Pumpkin Ale". Was anxiously awaiting trying this one due to the amount of fresh pumpkin in the mash but sadly disappointed. Expected much more.

Had on tap at Gigi's in State College, PA

L: Pours a deep caramel brown with mild off-white head.

S: Pumpkin pie and spices. Nutmeg and cinnamon on the nose.

T/F: Not overly sweet which is a good thing. Spicy, as you'd expect from a pumpkin beer with Nutmeg, ginger, and cloves... a little vanilla as well. A tame bitter hop kick at the finish. Moderately carbonated.

O: I'm not the biggest lover of the pumpkin beers but this one is solid and drinkable. One of the better offerings I've had in the genre and it avoids the 'fizzy pumpkin soda' trap nicely. If you enjoy pumpkin ales then you won't be disappointed.

Had on tap at Tapped in Tarrytown NY.

Color is a reddish brown with little to no head on the pour.

Smell is nutmeg cinnamon typical spicing for a Pumpkin beer.

I always taste a slight sourness to good pumpkin beers- similar to a flavor profile I get in pumpkin pie. Evident here slightly, lots of the spicing in the flavor.

Decent pumpkin.

Had this poured into a pint glass. Color was a nice orange-copper, good looking beer. Aroma and flavor pumpkin and spices as youd expect, plenty of flavor but not too sweet. Mouthfeel was a bit harsh, but overall not bad. Pretty decent pumpkin.

This is one of the best pumpkin beers I've had. The color was dark amber, and it smelled of malts and spices. It had a nice toasty malt flavor with a moderate amount of pumpkin and spice that didn't overpower the beer flavor. This is a well balanced beer, and it really hits all the notes a pumpkin beer should. No one flavor dominates with pumpkin being distinct but secondary to the malts. It also tasted super fresh, but maybe it was just my bottle. Medium bodied, and easy to drink- I would love to have it again if I could find it again.

Wasn't served in transparent glass, so the best I can describe it as is "dark reddish-brown". Had a tannish head. Last bit poured from bottle, so can't really comment on retention. On the nose, pumpkin spice. On the palate, that, but alcohol and roastiness as well. Very good. Medium-bodied and quite sudsy. Only was afforded a small taste at a friend's house. Want to find myself it so I can give it a proper review (and rating).

Poured a dark copper color from bomber with little head and no retention. Aroma was pleasant; the notes of pumpkin spice you'd expect from the style. Taste was good and not ovpowering on the spice. Feel was a bit thin, however. I think this could be even better with a bit more chew to it. Overall, a solid entry into the vast pumpkin beer category.

Pumpkin Rating: Fair
Drink Again: If I could get it, yep!
There is a very strong spell that brings to mind all manners of delicious pumpkin based savory foods, which is a nice contrast to a lot of the sweet 'n spicier pumpkin beers out there. I'm not sure if the flavor holds up, but it has a light and not unpleasant sourness that's very drinkable. I could see it pairing well with anything big, oily, savory. About to pull some squash based macaroni cheese and find out.

A- Deep ruby color, clear. One finger head and no lacing.
S- Nothing artificial about it. Like drinking cold leftover pumpkin pie.
T- Spiciness, worthiness, and pumpkin pie all meld seamlessly. Not too strong or lite.
M- Medium high carbonation. Creamy.
D- Wow, a great pumpkin beer from the brewers at Rogue!

Great looking bottle.

Pours a gorgeous caramel color with a 1-finger, off-white head.

Smells of malty caramel, pumpkin and spices... Mmmm.

Taste great. Not overpowering with the spices but enough that they let you know they are there. Great pumpkin taste.

Some pumpkin beers are very subtle... some are overpowering. This one is in the middle.

Overall a great pumpkin beer.

A 22 ounce bottle in a pint glass.

Personally think this pumpkin beer is underrated. Well balanced, not too sweet, pumpkin bread taste. Beautiful color, great long lasting head and good lacing when poured into a snifter. I just opened a bottle of the 2015 brew.

Pours a very deep auburn brown color. White colored foam levels a nice layer on top.

Its smells of malted wheat, nutmeg, and pie crust.

Flavor is milder than I was expecting. I notice a bit of cloves, maybe some mandarin oranges, but not much else in the way of pumpkin or pumpkin pie spices. This reminds me more of an Octoberfest than a pumpkin ale.

Medium bodied. No qualms there.

Again, this is more reminiscent of a Marzen/Octoberfest than a pumpkin ale in my opinion. I may try another bottle again soon to see if I just found a dud with this one or something.

Pours a hazy amber color with a finger width foamy head. Head retention is good. Lacing is great. Strong pumpkin spice aroma. Mild licorice. Strong clove and nutmeg. Great pumpkin taste. Some cloves and nutmeg are evident. Definitely heavy bodied. Mild carbonation. Great pumpkin ale!!!

October 18th, 2013 - Rogue's contribution to the Pumpkin Beer wave is a pretty beer. It looks like living amber, bubbling with activity, but deep, dark and almost flirtatious with its vegetal blush. The aroma is alluring, too, nice and restrained, but giving off clear hints of the gourd. Underneath, and excavated with a little aggressive sniffing is the pumpkin pie sweetness, minus the crust of said pie. Sweet, but not candied, and not too much sugar. Of all the elements of a good pumpkin pie, this is most closely related to the canned pumpkin, but lower, slower, and a little more rubinesque. The carbonation is very healthy, and helps prop up a heavy body, although you can see its knees wobbling a bit. The aftertaste is dry, focused on the botanical touches of the pumpkin, like a cooked slice of pumpkin flesh sprinkled with sugar. And the foretaste is sweeter, though harder to catch through that first rush of bubbles. The vegetable bitterness and herbal quality is laced in there with a dash of sugar. All throughout the mouthfeel is really doing an excellent job of pushing the beer's positive qualities, while the flavor is also solid, but just a little overshadowed by an excellent palate. All in all, this is a great pumpkin beer, and outstrips a lot of the little orange bottles that sprout in liquor stores around this time.

Pours a beautiful deep garnet with a two finger fluffy khaki head. Aroma is malt sweetness with cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice. Taste is great, not too heavy on the spicing, with a nice sweet caramel malt backbone, and a nice underlying pumpkiny gourdiness that shows pumpkin and a touch of earthiness. Mouthfeel is thin to medium and a bit silky. Overall, a very nice pumpkin beer, and definitely an impressive effort from Rogue that I would seek out again.

Appearance: Hazy orange-brown in color, with a large, coarse off-white head, which fades only slowly. Thin lacing utterly coats the glass walls. Little carbonation is evident.

Aroma: Strong aroma of pumpkin pie spice, roasted pumpkin rind, and sweet caramel dominates the aroma; there are notes of vanilla as well.

Taste: Opens with roasted pumpkin rind, toasted malt, and pumpkin pie spices. As the taste progresses, the spices intensify a bit, and there is some earthiness. Throughout, there is an undercurrent of dark caramel. The spices are omnipresent in the taste, but, towards the close, the spices ascend, and there is a bit of smoky caramel and hints of vanilla.

Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, fairly full, with a hint of carbonation.

Drinkability/notes: Nicely done, a well-crafted example of my absolute favorite style.

Presentation: Packaged in an orange-enameled twenty-five point four ounce Belgian bomber, sealed with a pry-off crown.

In Memoriam: Pumpkin (April 1998 - November 22, 2014) - the best cat ever. We will always miss you

Appearance - 3.75/5
Pours a deeper shade of red-orange, fairly clear, about 1 finger of head which dissipates almost immediately. Can see lots of carbonation rising up through the ale.

Smell - 4/5
Nutmeg, pumpkin, and cinnamon are most prominent. I can detect a little ginger as well. Also, it smells very "fresh". Like a cool ocean breeze on a lightly windy day. Maybe some minor malts/hops smell.

Taste - 4/5
Pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, some malts with a lightly caramelized sugar taste. Some light earthy hops taste. Overall this is a pretty good taste. Reminds me of DFH's Punkin Ale.

Mouthfeel - 3.75/5
Medium bodied. Crisp, yet very smooth. Carbonation is quite light.

Overall - 4/5
This was a good pumpkin beer. Probably not something I would buy again because of the price, and there are other good pumpkin beers out there which are much cheaper.

Strong, malty aroma has a good tone of pumpkin and more than a hint of cloves. Pours a translucent russet with a fairly thick buff head that leaves some good lacing. Malty flavor has a firm, but not overpowering, note of pumpkin plus hints of cloves and cinnamon and a touch of hops. Texture has good fizz and body. A very good beer for a Halloween party - or for Thanksgiving dinner.

Poured into a snifter

A- pours a dark brown-amber color with an orange hue, small fizzy white head reduces completely, leaving just a few patches floating on top

S- buttery pumpkin pie aroma with an emphasis on nutmeg and cinnamon, the addition of vanilla gives it a whipped cream aroma. Sweet malty base gives hints of caramel & cola, slightly nutty and earthy finish

T- sweet caramel malt base gives way to notes of cinnamon, clove & nutmeg, but the spices are subtle. This leads to some vegetal pumpkin notes with a hint of vanilla. Pie crust sweetness on the finish

M- medium body with medium spritz carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel and a crisp, biting finish

O- quite drinkable and doesn't go overboard on the spicing, nice pumpkin ale

Pumpkin beer is one of my favorite types of beer. This beer has the best pure pumpkin flavor of any of them. Color is that of pumpkin pie. Very little head. Smell is the same as the color. Taste is exceptional. Balances the sweetness with the spice. Doesn't go to heavy on spice. Exceptional pumpkin flavor. Love the finish. Feels slightly less thick than the taste. Overall, pure pumpkin gold.

Appearance - Very nice amber color with nice head

Smell - pumpkin pie is the first thing that comes to mind. spices really sing and real nice aromas

Taste - now this is what i was suprised with. the spices seem to disappear on the tongue no real flavors from the aromas that i noticed more toned down light bitterness. let it warm and the spices poked through just not as strong as other pumpkin beers ive tasted.

Mouthfeel - very light for the coloring moderate carbonation sweet feel.

Overall - actually alot better than most of the other pumpkin beers ive had this is a beer rather than a beer with tons of spices thrown in to resemble an over spiced pie.
