2012 release. Orange bottle.

Slightly hazy brown pour with slight red highlights. Half finger soapy off white head. Lacing is minimal.

Pumpkin right up front, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and brown sugar. I don't get the orange as advertised on the bottle. I also don't see the point in it.

Pumpkin and cinnamon. The orange actually comes through and with the cloves actually works. Brown sugar and vanilla with slight digestive cookies.

Light body, medium to low carbonation.

Hazy burnt orange colour with red highlights. Pale beige head is large and tightly formed, but not very retentive. Patchy lace. Malty brown sugar aroma with pumpkin, orange zest, and spice notes. Toasted malt up-front followed closely by a vegetal note from the pumpkin puree and a melange of spices. Nutmeg and cinnamon are more prominent than clove. A nutty character persists throughout. Almost medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a soft, gentle mouthfeel. The pumpkin and spice character is strong enough to be easily noticed, but restrained enough to allow the base malt character of the beer to shine through. There is some sweetness to it, but not a whole lot. It certainly isn't Pumking. An extremely well balanced take on a style that many find either overpowering or underflavored. This one finds the middle ground.

nice orange bomber...

eyes...
2 fingers of head on a careful pour, slightly off white head populated by micro bubbles that produce some really nice lacing on down the glass, carbonation is at a good clip keeping the head well fed and buoyant on the surface, clean orange hue is consistent throughout the glass, nice looking brew !

nose...
you can smell this one at arms length, sort of a roasty earth tone with that semi sweet fruit note that smacks of pumpkin, notes of pumpkin spice float on the overall aroma here, damn, I should have had this with thanksgiving dinner ! absolutely delicious smell, I'm not a huge fan of pumpkin flavors in general (in pie form etc) but this just is devilishly inviting, the aroma is consistent and balanced, nothing is out of place here, the freshness is apparent, outstanding.

taste etc...
the mouth feel is really nice, the carbonation carries this perfectly, although the carbonation is there there is a 'flat' taste in there somewhere for me, I get the spice notes in the aftertaste but the initial offering is a bit strange to me, kind of a dirty sugary-ness if that makes sense, almost a bit cloying at times, you can sense the ABV just a hint at the end which mixes nicely with the spice notes (cinnamon, nutmeg). you are left with the spice/hop afterglow which really does remind me of some pumpkin desserts.

verdict?
still not loving the style but this was a valiant effort and you can taste it, not for me but worth trying as it really does have some stellar points

Served in a tulip glass.

Appearance: A slightly darker amber with a touch of brown, heavy tiny bubbles on the body when placed upon light. Head slightly off-white with a light light orange tint that rose to just under a finger's length.

Smell: You know what this brew is ridiculously strong when it comes to scent, hardcore pumpkin feel complimented with nutmeg, I have had many "pumpkins" but this one is sticking to me.

Taste: Robust feel with so much going on here with cinnamon, nutmeg and pumpkin. Lightly sweet makes me wish I had this with cheesecake. It feels like brown sugar was definitely an element that was part of this brew, regardless it's dark sweet feel is

Mouth: Not as sticky as some of my favorite pumpkins but does the job, very smooth with loose texture that resembles a lighter carbonation but it more medium if anything.

Overall: I think these beer goes up in the honor of pumpkins, it isn't as strong as some of the better ones but it is ridiculously full of flavor. I would mark this maybe as my number four when it comes to pumpkins which says A LOT, drink up and respect...Salud!

It's pumpkin, it's beer, it's sex in your mouth. This is one of the best pumpkin beers I've had. Need I say more? It's not too much of a beer trying to be a pumpkin, it's not too much a pumpkin trying to be a beer. It's what I want in a pumpking beer.

Dark amber colored with a moderate amount of carbonation. Aromas of malty pumpkin and spice. Taste is where this beer shines. Pumpkin, cinnamon, all-spice flavors very balanced. Mouthfeel is just right not too heavy not too light. One of the best pumpkin ales. Rogue got this right!

Pours dark clear burnt caramel, nice looking big  frothy head.
Smells of mulled spiced cider with some cinnamon and pumpkin, yeast and sweet bread.
Tastes ok since the pumpkin flavor has a sweetness to it, nutmeg lives here for sure, then gives way to the malt and then a tinny taste, a dry end to this. I'm not a great fan of ale profiles like this one has...However as far as the few pumpkin beers I've tried, this one still would be among the top. Medium carbonation and smooth enough; sips well for this type, a creaminess despite its thinness.
I'd say trying this is a must try if you dig seasonals and of course pumpkin in beer. Thanksgiving is today for this tasting and i couldnt think of a better time to sample this style. Everything for my liking was fine about this brew and despite the metallic impression i had at first; this sure is tasting good as it warms. Well made. I'd enjoy pumpkin flavored beers even more as a big thick imperial stout.
