Apparently this is a very dark Dunkelweizen fed through a Randall filled with bananas.
Very dark brown verging on black with a smooth, slightly foamy, short-lasted tan head. Poor head retention.
Green banana and slightly roasty, mild chocolate malt notes. Quite earthy.
Moderate, fresh banana flavour with some light dark malt notes that add a chocolatey depth. Some sweetness. Definitely not a classic Dunkelweizen.
Medium-light body with moderately-high carbonation. Good for style and very crisp.
A really interesting beer. I'm not convinced I'd buy it again but it does what it sets out to with this strange combination of wheat beer, banana and darker malt.
